aniiversary weekend ideas?
Our second anniversary falls on a monday. I have fridays off and don't start work until noon on mondays, but, I'm hoping to request the monday of our anniversary off so we can have a 4 day weekend together...it's been a rough year!
I came up with the idea of going to Santa Barbara, but since it's quite the drive from Fairfield, I'm thinking we should go somewhere or do something else...any ideas?

Re: aniiversary weekend ideas?
Mendocino maybe?
I've heard great things about the Maccallum House Inn & Restaurant.
How far do you want to go? There are tons of options for a weekend get-a-way.
Monterey/Carmel, Lake Tahoe, SF, Half Moon Bay, Tiburon/Sausalito, Murphys/Jamestown, Napa/Sonoma/Calistoga/St.Helena/etc, Mendocino/Sea Ranch/Point Arena.
If you want to go a little further, but not as far as Santa Barbara, what about San Luis Opisbo? San Simeon and Hearst Castle, Paso Robles wine tasting, Morro Bay, etc. Along with all the great stuff SLO has to offer.
With gas prices you might want to look at airline tickets...if you find a sweet deal in a place you don't need a rental car, it might work out to be the same cost-wise. With a four day weekend, you could do quite a bit.
Let us know what you decide....happy anniversary.

I was going to say this. DH and I have never been there but are hoping to go this year.
Fort Bragg is actually where we're going for our weekend away/babymoon in a few weeks...but I feel like Mendocino (10 miles away) is more quaint and romantic and "anniversary"ish. Fort Bragg just holds special memories for us, so we tend to always go/stay there and then spend a lot of time in Mendocino walking around, eating, etc. In Fort Bragg, I can't recommend highly enough the Beachcomber Inn all the way North of town. They just redid the rooms there and many of them have sliding doors out to the ocean, and it's right at the trestle bridge. Really nice. Do you guys bike ride? H and I had a TON of fun riding our bikes from the Beachcomber over to the local brewery for beer samplers and then home.
Also, there's a small little pizza place there that has the best pizza and beer.
