What's new this week?
Kiley decided that she wanted to learn to pull her self up, so she's been trying to do that. Fun times !
Re: Momma Check In
Go Kiley! She's really hit a movement spurt this month!
Last night I gave J a plastic cup with a little water and he knew exactly what to do with it -- he grabbed it and put it right in his mouth and got most of the water into his mouth! I was shocked he picked that up so quickly (we've been letting him sip out of our glasses, but never given him his own cup). The 3rd and 4th cups of water got all over him, but he's got the general idea
Thom is convinced J said "two" the other day, and I heard him say "me," but of course he has no idea what they mean.
go kiley and jacob!
nothing really new. we are doing great at getting z to fall asleep on her own. for some reason she's been waking in the middle of the night for about an hr but i am attributing it to teething (and she got shots yesterday).
we finally were able to start yogurt so she had that for the first time yesterday. she loves it!
and i am happy to report that her gaining has tapered off a bit. she had her 8 mth dr's visit yesterday and she is 20.3 lbs and 28 inches. perhaps she'll stay in this area for a bit now that she's doing more moving around.

Goodness, these babies are having some serious developmental milestones! They are all growing so quickly.
Bella is now answering our questions with more than a yes or no. For instance, if she falls down I will say Bella are you ok? And she will say, I'm alright, I'm ok. Or Bella do you want to go outside and play, she'll say I do. I love it, it has cut down on so much of her frustration now that we can semi communicate with actual words and understand each other.
She has had a lot of words for a while, but 18/19 months seems to have made her vocabulary explode.

Riley can now get down from standing without holding onto anything. She'll stand up in the middle of the room, then bend over and get down. She can also bend over and pick things up without holding onto anything. She just started nodding her head yes and will do it if you say "yes" (she has been doing no for awhile). She climbed a whole flight of stairs at my parents' this weekend!!
Oh and the best part - she's STTN about 4 out of 7 nights a week (the other nights she nurses around midnight still) AND has gone down a few times without nursing to sleep the past couple days. Yesterday I nursed her at 10:30 then put her down for a nap at 11:15 when she started rubbing her eyes and she went to sleep no fuss no muss. I'm so proud of her!
Craziness!
Jordan learned a valuable lesson on Easter Sunday - You have to pay attention while playing sports. He got whacked in the back of the head with a softball. It's been a long time since I've seen him cry that hard. I almost started crying. My cousin is a paramedic and made a big deal out of "treating" him. I think the attention made Jordan feel a bit better. I called the doctor and they didn't seem too concerned. Still, I made an appointment. Just in case.
Welcome to the dark side
poor jordan! i hope he's feeling better! xo
