I was curious about the Vibram 5 fingers shoes after reading a lot about them on the H&F board and ended up getting a pair. They are funny looking but I thought the benefits might be worth it. Unfortunately I have very fat toes (big toe especially) and they really didn't work for me. When I brought this concern up at a shoe store the sales person asked me if I had tried Merrell's new Glove minimalist sneakers with a sole made by Vibram so they are super light and flexible. I tried them on and they are great! It gives you the feel of being barefoot but doesn't seem to have the same break in time that other minimalist sneakers have. And most importantly, I think they are pretty cute and have actually gotten compliments on them. They are on the more pricey side, but I haven't bought a good pair of sneakers in a long time so I think it's worth it. Just thought I would pass it along since I hadn't heard about them until a few days ago. I got them in Lavender ![]()

I got a pair of the New Balance Minimus trailrunners after going to a launch party for them in Salt Lake City. They are incredibly light, have the Vibram sole, and are so comfy. I've been wearing them for barefoot running on the treadmill at the gym, but I really want to wear them for my "everyday" sneakers this summer. LOVE THEM!
