walking everywhere in the heat - shoe shopping
I need something for my dogs since I am walking so much. I don't care for wearing sporty socks/my sneaks because they are heavy and sweaty. Also, they just look bulky.
So I was looking for something breathable, with support, and wouldn't look so bulky if I was even wearing a lightweight sporto skirt or something. and hellll to the no, flip flops aren't gonna do it.
what about these merrills?

Re: walking everywhere in the heat - shoe shopping
Those are not my style, personally.
However I think Privo has some really cute options and they are super comfy. I own a pair:

My little nuggets
I thought you were actually talking about dogs.
i didn't know about these until zappos suggested them! huh! I like!
Rum, I think they (eta: your original link) might be a little too sporty for a skirt. How about Keens (they might be a tad too bulky, though). I found these:

ps: I like kernel's suggestion, too.
when I am talking skirt, I mostly mean something like this

clarks sandals sound....kinda...frumpy.
I like the keens - i only wonder about their support. erbur, you need me to be happy and comfy for our lunch date when it is finally planned!
I own Birkenstocks sandals. I bought them last year while I was knocked up and needed something comfy.
There are a ton of frumpy one's, but they have some really cute one's:

Also - if you are a rue lala member, they have picnic baskets on sale there now, if you were doing something like that ranging from 30 - 200 dollars. I wasn't sure what holiday you were going to go with.
rum, I have been looking for the same type of thing. I found a couple pairs of Privos at DSW that I really liked. I think I am going to buy these

ETA - I tried them on in-store and they seemed to have the support I was looking for.

thanks for the ruelala tip...i am not a member. I cannot handle so many dammmmned subscriptions to stuff.
the sandals aren't frumpy, however, I fear that walking about 3 - 4 miles might not be fun.
i have a pair of privos from a few years ago that I got as my "amusement park shoes" and they are awesome. they fulfull the following needs: comfortable for a full day in a park, breathable, waterproof, and closed toe.
My Merrells are very thin-soled. They are comfortable, but not for long long walks and days spent on your feet. Those Merrells look slightly thicker in the sole.
Ditto Benjamin Lovell on 18th or South: http://www.benjaminlovellshoes.com/pages2/locations.htm
It is one of the only places where I can buy shoes that don't hurt my retardo feet.
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
yes, closed toe is important (getting city sidewalk dirt between my toes skeeves me out)
We have some zappos coupons, hence the need to shop there.
benjamin lovell on south st is the BEST....huge clearance section and tons of sizes. i got both merrell's and privias for less than 30 each, around new years. they are super comfy, i do prefer the privias over the merrells in comfort and walking alot.
Another vote for privos. I've been a changed woman ever since I discovered these. They're great for commuting, walking all day, good with shorts/capris as well as pants, you can wear them with or without socks.
I like these:

I just ordered these
and these http://www.zappos.com/privo-by-clarks-polar-lake-grey
we will see which fit better and I keep in like 2 hours when they get here (zappos shipping is insane.)
I swear they ship them before you even finish checking out.
