Re: Everyone OK?

  • It was calm around here the whole time, I was feeding Monk lunch so I kept a close eye on the radars....only rain in my neighborhood.

  • I heard the sirens, but didn't see any of the alerts on the weather websites, so I didn't think much of it, until DH called in a panic.  We don't have a basement, and I'm here with K by myself today.  He then called the sitter and apparently R was freaking out.  I later found out that he was mad and upset because they had to go downstairs while they were eating lunch and he just wanted to finish his lunch!

DH sent me to the sitters house to pick R up because of this freak out.  By the time I was turning on her street, the sky was clearing and she texted to say that R had calmed down.

So, stupid DH, who is VERY worried about K and I home without a basement...wanted me to drive to the sitters during the warning.  Didn't make much sense to me, but whatever.

I never ended up getting him because I know that he'll nap better at her house than at home and I have stuff to get done!

  • We didn't get the real nasty weather out here, just some very heavy rain and it's now very windy.
  • We just got some rain down here. It's not even windy now, it's actually really nice outside. If I didn't think it would be a giant puddle I would take Ella to the park.

  • Its pretty windy out here now too...and wtf there is someone out mowing their lawn....there is no way they can be mowing with all the rain we have had.....no way...

ME TOO!!  The world needs to stop making me think it's Friday!

And I guess I should clarify that I didn't actually witness any of said crazy weather, just heard about it. :)

  • My neighbor mowed theirs yesterday also. Ours needs mowed bad, but we can't get our lawn mower to start. DH is going to work on it this weekend and hopefully get the thing fixed. Luckily there are a few other people on our street who haven't mowed their lawn yet, so were not the only ones with a crappy looking lawn.
  • okay here.... except for those in my office that were wigging out over the tornado warning.   sheesh!

All good here.  We have some super big trees and those suckers were moving like they were the trees in The Lord of the Rings! LOL  It scares the crap out of me that they are so close to the house.  We had a really big branch hit the house last year and that was not fun.  Oh and when I say branch, it was longer then my house is tall by quite a bit.

Our neighbors on the other side never mow so I don't generally worry too much about it. Last summer they probably mowed 6 times.

  • It was kind of nuts over here. I didn't know it was that bad out until I heard the sirens when one of my supervisors was getting ready to leave. He came back in and I got a call from one of our crews who was right next to Levis Commons wanting to know what was going on with the weather because some of the crew members were yelling that there was a tornado. We had to call a bunch of our crews to check out how they were and make sure everything was fine. The weather here was a bit odd too. It was kind of breezy when the sirens started, but then there was no wind whatsoever. It was eerie. Then after about 10-15 mins the winds picked back up again. No idea what that was but it was kind of odd.

  • I don't know what you guys got, but we had a ridiculous amout of wind and TONS of trees down.  Many people were lucky and their houses were missed, but a house down the street, the tree fell between the house and garage, taking out the front part of the garage and a 2nd floor balcony on the back of the house.  Huge huge trees, pulled out by the roots.  CRAZY.  My dad and his wife woke up to this that morning:
