S/O Giving notice...

After reading Copper's post, I realized I needed to put on my big girl underpants and talk to my boss (the one I actually really like!) regarding my maternity leave and its, ahem, permanence. I had been holding off for a week since he had been going through some stress, but I finally bit the bullet today and told him I would be working through June barring any medical advisement against it and he took the news really well. He agreed with my proposal to stay on to help them find a replacement and then train that person before taking off, which I think will be a huge benefit to both my replacement and the company for the transition. He had some kind words and expressed that he wished I could stay and it would be difficult to find someone to do what I had done in the position, which was much appreciated.

So now I feel a million times lighter, and as of the last week in June, I am DONE here! Two months and counting until we're Maine bound... Smile

Thanks for the boost, Copper!

  • Thanks all! Can't wait to be back in the great state of Maine, I think DH might have to peel me off the dock this weekend when we have to drive back to Newport on Sunday, but at least it's only temporary at this point!
