Roy Oswalt leaves the Phillies...
...for "personal reasons". My first instinct was that he was unhappy with his place in the rotation, but if you read the comments in the article, apparently he is from Arkansas and has a lot of family down there and possibly went to help out. Either way, craziness.

LOL are you serious about him being unhappy about his place in the rotation?
he is from mississippi where there have been really bad storms he has left before for the same reasons.
Apparently his hometown where he has family and a restaurant was hit particularly hard yesterday. Hopefully all is well and hopefully he'll be back soon.
I was! You see something like "personal reasons" and it seems so vague so that was my first thought! I hope I'm wrong and I think I probably am. Not that I'm wishing harm on the man's family...
The Phillies released this statement:
There has been a tremendous amount of tornado activity near Roy's home in Mississippi resulting in several tragic deaths and significant devastation to the area. Because of this, Roy is concerned about his family's well-being. He has chosen to take time to make sure there wasn't significant damage to his home, but more importantly, to make certain that his wife and children are okay"
