Poll

Okay, be honest.  Who is planning on tuning in on Friday to the Royal Nuptials?  Working or not working people, please chime in!

I am, and plan on checking in during the day on the Internet to hear all the hoopla!

Re: Poll

  • I will watch what I can.  I am not anxiously awaiting the day but curious about it all.  I am sure she will make a beautiful bride!

  • I know I'm totally in the minority, but someone else said it best when they said the only way I could be less interested is if I were in a coma.  ;)

  • I could care either way. I'll probably catch bits & pieces of it, and it actually might be a nice change, to hear about at work ... LOL

  • I am going to tune in (mostly because I remember my mom watching Diana's wedding and how special that was, not that this one will compare IMO), but I am not this nuts:

  • I'll watch what I can (which won't be much). I like all the info about it, I am kind of a dork in that I tend to take situations like this and get interested enough to do research into the whole thing. Doing so brought back bad memories of property law and feudal estates (lacey, bethany and sydney can relate I'm sure!) that stuff didn't make sense then and it still doesn't now.

  • I won't watch it, I'm sure I'll catch the highlights on the news.

However, I do look forward to following Kate in her role. She seems like a cool person. I heard on the news today they intend to adopt from an impoverished country. Can you imagine the future king being from Malawi or somewhere like that? I think it's cool.

Happy mom to two sweet, silly boys: Cohen age 4, AJ age 2.

This exactly for me also. I really enjoy things like this. I spent a semester in Wales and England in college and ever since have become increasingly more interested in the royal monarchy. Plus, I love me anything and everything wedding!

That would be cool, I'll give it to William for so far bucking the trend when it comes to royalty. Although I do wonder if there would perhaps be any rules regarding adoption and rights to the throne? It is still a really strict and outdated system - men get priority, must be a protestant, etc.

  • I don't work so I might watch some of it. I am not really interested but curiosity might make me check out a little bit. I'll probably be up all night anyway and there's not much to do in the middle of the night.

  • If I catch highlights on the local nightly news that will be the extent of it.  I don't follow US celebrities, so I definitely don't follow the royals either.

  • I have a vaca day from work (NOT Royal Wedding related!) and will probably watch coverage.

I really don't WANT to care.  I just do.  Haha.

  • I love it, a modern fairytale. It's nice to get lost in something like a fairytale wedding.  I remember watching Diana's Wedding clips with my mom and thinking it was the most beautiful thing.  Love the pomp and circumstance.  I have it set to DVR on 2 channels....Stick out tongue
  • Absolutely not.

  • I have it set to DVR, much to DH's dismay... I'm a sucker for love stories so I'm all in. Smile

I'm sure I'll check it out some coverage to see the hats. Love the hats! And to see her dress, but that's about it. DH and I both have the day off and it's our anniversary so we'll try to spend the day together without Kate & Wills.

I did joke with DH that he has to buy me the commemorative sapphire ring I keep seeing on TV late at night because it's our anniversary and my birthstone. Thank goodness he has the good sense not to listen to me. :)

Funny, I was thinking the same thing.  This morning on the news they were talking about the strict rules of succession the English Royal Monarchy keeps to.  Even if Kate and William have a biological girl she doesn't get to rule unless all of the male relatives before her can't.  They said there is a lot of popular sentiment in Britain for changing those rules to allow women to be first in succession if this situation were to occur.  I'm not sure an adopted child would be in the running Sad, but still a great thing for the two of them to do!
