I saw that you had a couple of questions about laser hair removal in the thread from yesterday and figured I could share my experience. I went through American Laser Center. I started with my underarms b/c that was the spot I was most concerned with at the time. It was pretty pricey, I think it was $800-$1000 just for that area. It included the 6 required sessions and the 2 year guarantee, which stated that I could come back for as many session as needed in the 2 years after the six sessions ended if I had any hairs grow. I never stopped going after my 6 sessions. I continued to go until the extra 2 years were up. I definitely still needed to go during that time.

After about 3 sessions, they offered me my bikini line at a discount and so I went for it. It was a bit more than the underarms, I want to say around $1300 or so? They had a payment plan with no interest so I was able to pay it off before my sessions were done. All in all, I am very happy that I did it and I am happy with the results. It worked better on my bikini line and I think that is because the hair was more coarse than under my arms.

Hopefully this answers your questions. If you have any others, don't hesitate to ask. :)

  • Thanks so much. I'm thinking about the bikini area but I don't know how much I want to do exactly- just the bikini line or more than that. I'm thinking it would work well for me because I have brown hair and pale skin, but I'm worried about it being awkward and also being painful. If you change your mind and can't go through with all the treatments is there a partial refund? Was it awkward to get the bikini area done? I have heard there is a lot of turnover so I am kind of uneasy about how professional and skilled the people will be.

  • It does sound like it would work well for you. They said that dark hair and light skin is best. Oddly enough, the bikini line wasn't as painful as my underarms. I'm not sure about the partial refund, I never had to ask. I was very determined to be hair free! :) It was not awkward to get my bikini area done. I didn't get the whole thing done, just the sides, across the top, and the tops of the inside of my legs (I don't how else to describe that area). I kept my underwear on the whole time so that made it much less awkward. They just had me pull the sides up a bit, my vajay was never exposed. As far as turnover, I saw the same few girls every time I went in. I would assume certain offices have more turnover than others. HTH!
