Re: sweet fancy moses I think I've found the love of my life

  • I didn't just run to the kitchen to see if we have all the ingredients to make these...
  • omfg, are you kidding me? I am drooling on my keyboard.

my only problem with this recipe is putting them in jars...there's no way I could lick them clean :-)

  • Holy cow, those look good. That recipe needs to go straight to the top of my "to try" pile. Yum!
  • Wishing I wasn't going out town this weekend so I can try them!

    S'mores are my favorite!

  • Dear T&C,

That beats what I was eyeing! I just came across these a few days ago!

Confession: I hope these jar cakes don't get too popular before I get to impress a few peeps with them! Ha!

  • Hell yes. Do you think there's a way to make them in something other than a jar? Aside from bh's point that I won't be able to lick the bottom, I would hate to buy jars only for this, but don't see a need to really have them otherwise. Thoughts?

Kewlie while the rainbow cake in a jar is pretty, it can't beat chocolate and marshmallows. Big Smile

  • OK.  I have a problem with cakes in a jar.  The cake to frosting ratio is totally unacceptable.  And, how to you eat through the frosting to get just the right amount of cake and frosting in each bite?  hmmm.
  • Oh, those look yummy!

I know, right? Although the amount of marshmallow in the photo above kind of makes my teeth hurt.

LOL.  I was thinking this recipe needs to go straight to my hips. Stick out tongue

At most independent hardware stores, I've seen them sell the jars individually so you don't need to buy a whole flat of them.  Besides making jam or quick pickles, you can use the jars for storing ... like craft things or hardware things (buttons, nails, pieces of ribbon, screws, etc) or food (half of the chocolate chip bag you didn't use, etc).  I also prefer mason jars when I make homemade salad dressing.

Or you can be redneck like my family & use them as cups.

Don't knock my fantasy cake! I am imagining using one of those ice cream spoons to really get everything.

  • But where does the ice cream go? Cake is an ice cream vehicle. :)
