College Instructor Resume ?

I am going to apply for a college teaching position.  How should I list speaking engagements?  I want to include them because they demonstrate my expertise and they were for big/impressive organizations.

Re: College Instructor Resume ?

  • You actually want a vitae, not a resume. Any speaking events should go under the "presentation" category.

If they're presentations based on publications, though, you should list them under publications like:

Name, 2011. "Paper Title" Journal Published In. (Also presented at Big Name Venue, Date, for the Annual Conference of Muckity-Muck).

I'd personally go on to the college website, pull some vitaes from the faculty in the department/college in which you want to teach, and emulate their vitas.
