br: shampoo

What kind of shampoo do you use for your lo?  K developed cradle cap around 2 months, and it has gotten better over the last 2 months.  Our pedi told us to use selson blue a few times a week to start off with to help it, so we did and it has helped so much.  Anyway-I kind of realized that maybe her shampoo we were using before the selson blue made it more dry.  We used Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo.  So I quit that when we started the selson blue treatments, so I don't know if the selson blue did the trick or quitting the other stuff.  Anyway now I don't want to go back to the Johnson and Johnson, so I am hoping you ladies could recommend something to use!  (sorry for the rambling...I am exhausted!)

  • California Baby products are awesome...they have worked so well for my baby boy with sensitive skin. :)
  • We used J&J for a long time, but have switched to Aveeno.  I tried Burt's Bee's, but the DH didn't like the smell, and he gives baths.  I haven't tried CA Baby yet.  I think we like the Aveeno, and will stick with that.

  • On the cosmetic database site, J&J and Aveeno which are supposed to be gentle are both very chemical laden in reality. It's crazy. We use burts bees baby bee wash. I loooooove the smell (honey/vanilla-ish) but then I'm not crazy about the california babys herby smell, so I may be odd. I use burts bees things for myself as well.

  • We use California Baby and love it.  I have used other natural brands like little twig and burts bees with good results too.

I use Califorina Baby unscented. and love it! it works really well on El's dry skin. and her scalp, she has VERY thick hair, and we usually wash her hair every other bath, but we still wet it down run the water through it to get any extra crusty food.

FYI- CA Baby is NOT cheap! And I think I've only found it at Target.

  • K is super sensitive to everything, so we use California Baby Super Sensitive.  I don't notice a scent, but that is just me.  It has worked great so far!

Nicholas gets a little eczema on his legs every winter. We used Aveeno forever and it was fine, but wasn't cutting it this winter so I switched to Yes To Baby Carrots and his skin was soft again within a couple of days. It's only a little more expensive than J&J, etc.
  • We use the Arbonne baby hair & body wash:

I've heard more and more good things about the Yes to Baby Carrots line. Where did you find it?

Yes, I'd like to try it too! I know I've seen the adult line of Yes to Carrots at Target and Ulta, but haven't been looking for the kid one.  At target it is in the make up aisles (at least at the urbandale one).

You can get it at Walgreens and Target. It's about 8 bucks for 10oz, not bad.
