Cara is here!

I don't have too long, so I will update my siggy pic later, but I just thought I would get on to say that Cara finally arrive Saturday morning.  I had been having contractions since Thursday, but they did not hurt or bother me, so I didn't worry about it.  C took the afternoon off on Friday, and we did some shopping so I could walk around.  Nothing had happened that evening, so we decided to go to Texas Roadhouse for dinner, figuring it would be our last dinner out just the two of us.  During dinner, there must have been at least seven or eight birthdays, so we told Cara to get a clue, and she sure did.

Around 11:00 Friday night, I stood up, and all of a sudden had a pretty intense contraction.  I had a few more, and they seemed pretty close together, so I decided to finally time them.  Turns out they were about two to three minutes apart.  They were also incredibly painful.  I had zero transition from hardly feeling anything to intense contractions.  I called my doctor's office and told them I was heading in.  Sure enough, I was at 3-4 when we got there.  They sent me to a room as soon as possible, and the contractions continued to get worse.  I was begging for the epidural as soon as we got there.  A couple hours later, my water broke, and I was at 6.  However, at that time, the nurses realized that she was facing sideways.  They paged my OB (my midwife was there, but this situation called for the OB).  They determined her head was tilted all the way back too, so we would need to try to turn her.  They tried, and were not successful, so they positioned me to try to have gravity turn her.  I progressed to 8 in an hour, but she still would not turn.  They told me they would check in another 45 minutes, and if she didn't turn, I would have to have a c-section.  Sure enough, they still could not turn her.  So, around 8:00, I went in for my c-section.  Hearing her cry was the most amazing sound I have ever heard.  The staff at St. Luke's is amazing; we had the absolute best experience there.  Things have been going well at home too.  I love, love, love being a mom.

I hope all is well with everyone here too!  I haven't been able to even lurk, and I probably won't for a while, but I just wanted to share our update.  :D
