What time will you go vote?

Since we know there will probably be long lines, what time are you going to vote?

I'm actually going at 6 am. ?I have to stay at work until 7:30 (after the polls close), but I have to be in at 9:30 or 10 because of a stupid scheduling conflict making me work longer than I should have to. ?I'm telling my boss that I might not be able to be in at 10 to do what I have to do because of voting. ?She's going to have to deal with that.?

Re: What time will you go vote?

  • I hope I can do it at 6am as well, I don't want to get stuck in the lines.  Hhmm, perhaps this will motivate me to go out for a run before I vote.
  • We're going to aim to be there when the polling site opens at 7:00.

  • Mailled in my vote.
    Slainte!

  • Polls open at 7 am, and I have a conference call with Nairobi at 8...I will be there AT 7 am, and hopefully the line won't be too bad.

I have class until 7PM tomorrow night, and polls are only open until 8 PM, so there's no way I'm taking a chance and waiting.

  • I am going to go at an "off" time, like 2:30 pm or so.  Sophie did really well hanging out in the cold before the Obama rally, so I think she'll be ok in line for voting.
  • I'm not sure. I only work 9-3 tomorrow, so I'm not sure if I'll go in right away at 7 or if I'll go on my way home after 3. Or, if I'll wait until DH is off from work and go at 6 when he gets home.
  • Polls open at 6; I'll be there at 6.  I have to catch my bus at 8:15ish, and my friends (another med couple) and I were the only people there on Super Tuesday at 6.  I don't really picture my neighborhood as the camping out to vote kind of neighborhood, so I expect to be fine.

I'm going with friends again, and even though we only live 6 blocks away, we're driving.  The other wife usually goes to work before me but has flexible hours, so if there are long lines, maybe her husband will just drop us off at the subway station so we don't have to catch the bus! :)

  • Lyss, don't you find out about the sex of your baby tomorrow?

I'm going to go at lunch. If the lines are too long I can always come back, or I can take a long lunch.

  • right after work. the polling place is really close and we had success going straight after work (before dinner) last election. Then hopefully I can convince DH to go pick up our free starbucks!

  • i'm aiming for 9-10 a.m. hoping the morning rush will be over. i'm going into work late since i'm doing some election night coverage. it will certainly be the longest day ever.

but it cannot come soon enough! i cannot wait for this election to end. altho i fully expect i will need to be medicated come wednesday morning to manage my inevitable election withdrawl.

  • We are going to get there at 630 and the polls open at 7. We want to be one of the first in line, so hopefully that will work well for us. We have to be at work at 8, but I wanted to make sure we voted before that :)

  • Our polls open at 7, and our polling place is right across the street from our house, so we'll be there when they open. If we see a line developing, one of us can go over earlier. Then I can get Starbucks on my way to work :) The line there may be longer than voting.

  • Before work-maybe 8-8:30.  It should only be a little longer than normal due to our 2 ballot questions (1 is horrible--early voting that can be done anywhere w/ no id and 3 locations are done so to insure better D turnout.  So,  I know many in my neighborhood are against it and lines will be longer).  I also have an all day meeting, so it will help not having to think about it after 9AM.

  • Last September.

I'm going to try to snag a sticker, though.?
