Waterville/Skowhegan/Bangor

Hello All, Anyone in the Waterville Skowhegan or Bangor regions?

It feels like there aren't a lot of resources out here for birthing classes, etc, but I'm 11wks preggy with my first so I might just be incredibly out of the loop!

Any recommendations?

  • I'm not in that area but I think virtually every hospital that delivers babies offers some kind of birth preparation class.

  • I know Waterville offers classes. Maine General has campuses in Augusta and Waterville. I went to the Augusta classes and thought they were great.
  • MaineGeneral Thayer Campus in Waterville and Eastern Maine Medical Center have maternal education classes.  Congratulations! :)

  • The other ladies seem to have it covered, but I believe the hospital in Farmington has classes too (not sure where exactly you're located so that might be somewhat far)

Thanks! We are SOOO excited ... except for the birthing process.  I'm WICKED scared about that.  Its funny, some people take the unknown as no big deal, but for me, its really frightening.  Yes, I think I will probably end up at Thayer taking classes.  My small hospital offers one all day class.  For some reason that just doesn't seem like enough to me!
