Your input wanted on a marital discussion (clicky poll)
In a much larger conversation the subject of watches came up. One of us thinks they are obsolete and the other of us thinks people may wear them, even though neither of us does. the question pertains more to men, so that is what I wrote the poll to ask. In your response please tell me if you wear one or not.
In addition to the poll, what are your thoughts on the matter?

We both wear watches daily. Mine is just a simple leather fossil watch, his is a really nice Tag his mom got him for his college graduation 5 years ago. It's scratched to hell and the clasp is loose and needs to be replaced but he never leaves home without it.
Something is just easier to me (and him) to look down at your wrist to see the time than pull the cell phone out of your pocket/purse.

I voted 'sometimes' because DH wears one when he gets dressed up. He wears dress shirts and ties for work every day so he wears the nice watch I bought him then. He will also wear it when we dress up for other things like weddings, baptisms, holiday dinners, etc. When he gets home every day and changes his clothes the watch does come off and stays on the dresser.
This is coming from the man who owns about 9 watches. I mean really? Why does one person need 9 watches? He only wears the one I bought him a few years back. Other than that he doesnt wear one. Oh and I bought the watch before we moved in together, so this was before I knew he had 8 others!
I said "sometimes" but it's really a SS. H has an old beat up Fossil tha the wears occasionally, but he wants a really nice watch (and will probably get one from me for his 30th in 6 months haha.) If he had a nice watch, he'd wear it every day.
My brother and father wear a watch all the time.
DH owns several watches but claims he doesn't wear them because they are either broken, or not the right style or something. I have been meaning to get him a nice watch that is not broken and is the right style. Actually he just bought a cheap-o digital watch yesterday specifically for timing my contractions when that time comes. I thought it was really sweet.
I wear a watch probably 80% of the time. I have a couple that I switch between although I think only one fits me right now. I like wearing a watch.

DH is sort of OCD about wearing a watch... he even wore one when the battery was dead on a trip, until he could find someone to replace the battery.
A famous person wrote in his autobiography, "I will not speak to a man that does not wear a watch. If he doesn't respect his own time, he will not respect mine."
(Surprisingly, this quote is from Malcom X)
DH has a nice watch that I got him as a wedding present. He wears it for work everyday and when we go somewhere nice. But he doesn't typically wear it on the weekends or anything like that.
I, on the other hand...feel naked without a watch on.
DH loves watches. I think he has 8 or 9 that he rotates on a regular basis depending on what he's wearing.
I have 3 myself that I rotate to match my outfits.
I voted never...but really I'm a special snowflake. He'd like a watch, but we haven't been able to find one in our price range that works for him. He has an old one that needs a new battery, so he never wears it, but he wants a new watch for dress up events.
Which is strange, because he's never worn one as long as we've been together (6 years) until I made a comment the one day while trying on outfits for a wedding that if I was a man I'd have like 6 watches because they are the only universally acceptable form of man jewelry and I never feel properly dressed up until I accessorize.
2 days later he started talking about buying a nice watch. I think my comment percolated in his brain for a while and eventually he decided I was right. (except for the 6 of them part...he just wants one)

My husband wears his watch at work because he has to for documentation. As soon as he walked in the door it comes right off. He might wear his watch depending on the outfit. Ususally if he's not working its not on.
I wear mine ALL the time, its super simple. The face isn't even the size of a quarter. Although he doesn't wear a watch after work , he'll ask me for the time when we are out.
Although he has a watch, he doesn't wear it. He's a network/systems/computer guy and says it gets annoying when he's either on or rummaging inside a computer/server. I think it's because his watch is a chain link type and they jiggle? But he always has a work BB and his regular cell strapped to him at all times so it's pretty easy for him to catch the time.
I have a few watched and really like them, although I haven't worn them recently for whatever reason. I think they are more necessary because i don't belive in "wearing" my phone.
I'm a bit of an SS. DH used to wear his all.the.time but then he broke his arm and he needs another link put in for it to fit his wrist. It drove him crazy not to wear it and then he got used to not wearing it.
I love wearing mine--I think it's a PITA to fumble through my giant purse looking for my phone for the time and I'm one of those people who needs to know what time it is and how long until my next appointment (or whatever) at every minute of the day. A watch is so much more convenient for such an obsession.

DH wears a watch like 90% of the time, I probably wear a watch 5% of the time.
DH and I both wear watches every day. His is a Marc by Marc Jacobs (used to be mine before he stole it- it's a men's watch) and mine is a Timex for J Crew (also the men's version).
For some reason I just prefer mens watches over womens.
