This is really sad.

DH and I were watching the news tonight, and there was a story about a shooting that took place in my hometown. (We live about an hour away.) Didn't think too much about it, other than oh my gosh, that scary!

An hour or two later, I was on Facebook and saw a status of a friend of mine (I'll call her E) that said something to the effect of God bless my sister J and may God take her in his arms and watch over her now. I have known E since junior high. She went to my church, and we were pretty good friends though high school. I know E's family, but not nearly as well as I know her, and I haven't seen her sister J in a few years.

I automatically assumed maybe J was in a car accident or something. I clicked on their other sister's profile. (I know this sister also, but am not friends with her on FB.) This sister had a status up to pray for her sister, who was shot and killed today. The shooting I saw on the news was their sister. :(

Apparently her (possibly ex) boyfriend shot and killed her and then himself. She had 2 kids - it seems they are both okay and as far as I know not there. (Thank God.)

This is the article on the local newspaper's website.
