So I recently heard of a reusable tampon like "cup". There are different ones out on the market but the Diva Cup is most popular.
Have any of you ladies heard of someone who uses one or have you used one yourself? Good or bad reviews?
I'm really tempted to buy one because I like that it's a one time purchase (saving $$) and environmentally friendly.
Re: TMI Thursday ?
This is a little too crazy for me. I'm all for being green but I'm not yet prepared to re-use things that contain bodily fluids.
I had my own TMI I wanted to share today but now I forget.......
@Rach - Your TMI - You're getting Alzheimer's? Haha!
@Mel - I'm with Rach. I don't think I could go for that. If you get one, let us know how it works, though!
My TMI - I'm wearing a skirt/skort/skirt with shorts attached underneath so I don't have a Britney Spears moment thing - and with me sitting on the exercise ball for my chair, my inner thigh sometimes sticks to the ball, then my skin gets pulled when I stand up...ouch!

I read the FAQs which indicates you are not supposed to do this. Tell your friend.
I don't know about that, Mel. . . sounds like a good way to get an infection. Anyway, I would ask your gynecologist before you buy one.
I don't have a good TMI right now, I'll think about it

No offense to anyone who wants to try it, but the thought of emptying it is making me actually gag...
And I guess this is more of a TMI statement - I have never done it during that time of the month. Clearly the whole idea of Aunt Flo grosses me out so much!!!
I have heard that people use diva cups when TTC; they put it in when the deed is done to hold the sperm up there. Of course it doesn't make any medical sense, since the strong sperm will already be on its way to where it needs to go. It seems pretty gross to me, but I'm sure at one point people probably thought that tampons were gross too.
Considering the amount of time I've spent discussing sperm, periods, and ovulation the last few months, nothing seems TMI anymore. But here's a funny. I was reading through the IVF instructions a couple days ago, and it says that DH shouldn't drink from the time I do my injections. This is a problem for him since he's in a bowling league and on two softball teams, and beer drinking is part of all of the games. He was complaining a lot about it, and I just said... I have to give myself injections every day for several weeks, many of them in my a$$, and undergo a surgical procedure where someone is reaching into my cervix and taking my eggs. All you have to do is not drink beer for 10 days and jizz in a cup.
That shut him up.
I just LOLed in my office, thanks for the laugh :P Nicely played!

Me too!!!! Jeff and I had a similar argument when it came to doing his SA. Like, seriously, they just don't get it!
LOVE IT!!!! You totally cracked me up girl!
i've actually considered trying out the diva cup but always forget about ordering it. it's less risk for infection than a tampon and doesn't have to be emptied but once a day. and sure, it's nasty, but if i'm saving myself hundreds of dollars a year then i think i can manage.
mel i asked about this with my gyno and she said they're perfectly safe.
