I had my diabetes counseling appointment today, which went really well. Most of it is common sense, except that I have to cut down on fruit, which sucks because I love fruit. My sugars from my 2 hour test came back in the normal range so I officially don't have GD.
The hard part is being stuck in my house with nothing good to eat. I had a little meltdown because I was hungry and didn't know what to eat. We're a carb rich type of family! I finally settled on carrots and hummus, but that's not so exciting. We need to go grocery shopping asap!
*oh, and I think it's totally unfair that I don't have GD but I still have to do the stupid diet. ![]()
Re: Pity party for one
::hugs::
I'm so sorry Ali, but it's a good thing that you don't have GD and just think maybe you can find some some healty "sweets"

My Randomness Blog!!
Yes, it is!
Lots of veggies and meats/proteins. I can still have carbs, just not as much. So I have to do a food journal counting my carbs and tracking them. It's just an adjustment that I have to really think about what I'm eating.

You may want to look into the daily plate on livestrong.com or sparkfit (actually, babyfit also).
I use both sites- livestrong for tracking (I've been tracking on the daily plate for over 5 years, including 75% of the pregnancy), baby fit for advice/articles.
I use the daily plate, but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be gaining, losing or maintaining. I changed to maintain, which allows me like 1900 calories - I sure don't eat that in one day! Does babyfit take into account a pregnancy? Daily plate doesn't.

That does suck Ali. I had my 3 hour screening on Friday and the results should be in on Monday.
I'm a confessed carb addict myself, so this is going to be hard on me as well.
Hang in there....only 75-ish days to go.
