Well, I'm a dolt. As some of you may have seen on Facebook, I dropped a 45 lb plate on my foot during my workout last night. Here's what it looked like just after I did it:

At the urging of Facebook I went to Urgent Care to have it looked at. They did 3 x-rays and apparently nothing is broken. It looks a lot better today, see?

Yeah. I is a dumb-dumb.
So, my evening that was supposed to be spent cleaning and arranging my house was spent reading at Urgent Care. Wicked!
Has anyone else done a "soft tissue" injury like this to their foot? How long for recovery?
Also, how is everyone today??

We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?

Re: Morning?
Oh Raynes, I hurt for you. My mouth is still on the floor. I am so glad it looks better today, but I hope it feels better too. Sorry I have no experience with that type of injury, but I hope it gets better real soon!
To my disappointment, I realized about 20 minutes after I got up that it was only Thursday. I was so convinced it was Friday. Seriously, I got up this morning with the boys, brought them down to my mom and said, "have they showed the wedding dress yet?" Yeah I am a little off. I can't believe I still have one more day of work after today. UGH.
Tonight is the boys haircut, and then hopefully bedtime will go as smoothly as lastnight! Zach slept until 4:30 a.m. without waking up at all in between. Woot!
Have a great day ladies, I have a lot to get done today so my plan is to stay away from the interwebz today. (well ok, maybe I will check in at lunch.
)
Ouch! That looks so painful last night, but definitely looks better today. Hope it feels better soon. I have a habit of spraining my ankle, but never anything like that. Are you icing?
I'm excited for Fake Friday today! Just a few more hours and I am out of here for the weekend. Woohoo! I'm thinking of going into central London tonight, just to check out the craziness before tomorrow, but I'm not sure if I can convince DH to go with me. But we will be watching tomorrow morning, perhaps with some champagne (11am isn't too early to start drinking is it?), before heading out of town.

Raynes: Ouch!It looks much better today.
Last night I was offered an interview for a teaching position at a school very similar to the one I really wanted to work at this next year. It's actually my rival high school from when I was in school. I made some calls to people I know that work there, and hopefully I'll land it.
I'm off to help my sister pick out an outfit for my brother's wedding. Yup she's real last minute like that. Then it's spa day, and rehearsal. DH got us our suite from our wedding night for Friday night, I'm pretty excited!
Catch you ladies after the weekend!
Raynes, that looks awful. I mean, it looks better than last night but holy crap dude. Ick.
I've got another jam packed day today, lunch meetings with students, after school meetings with this student social justice group I'm working with. Oh! And I'm judging a grade 9 music competition today, which means I'm frantically trying to do lesson plans for the two classes I'll be missing.

raynes - ouch! That looks so painful. It does look a little better today though. I hope that you're fully recovered soon.
sushi - 11am is most certainly not too early to start drinking. I will be cracking open a champagne bottle at 5am my time for the wedding. Due to this, I will not be at work tomorrow.
reba - Vibes! I'll be thinking about you.
Tonight I'll be finishing up cleaning my house so that it won't be a total disaster when my friends start showing up around 4am to start watching wedding coverage. I'll also be prepping as much of the food as I can tonight for breakfast tomorrow. I don't want to have to wake up any earlier than necessary to cook breakfast. Tomorrow, wedding viewing and then back to bed
Since this is my fake Friday I'll also throw in my weekend plans. I have a wedding to attend on Saturday. It's an early afternoon wedding and an evening reception. Neither of the events are in the same town and neither are that close to the town that I live in. Therefore it will end up being an all day event. Sunday I have no major plans but I'm sure I'll spend most of it catching up on my sleep, cleaning my house and doing laundry.

Yowsa Raynes!
My mind spins when I hear how much goes into lesson planning and teacher stuff. Major kudos to all the teachers on the board.
Today is super busy for us trying to get ready for a big weekend of events on campus. I'm super frustrated, because apparently I'm supposed to know how to magically pull things out of thin air. People don't seem to understand that when there is nothing of something, there's really nothing I can do about it.
In better news, I finally got some decent sleep last night, so I don't feel nearly as groggy today. Hopefully I can make it a repeat performance tonight. DH ever so kindly slept in the guest room so I could take up the whole bed. I'm not sure it made as much of a difference as the awesome cool breezes we had coming through the windows, though.
OMG yes! This is so good. I have to make this again soon!

Good luck Reba!
May be making French toast tonight for dinner. I never think ahead to the next day for meals, so I'm not sure I'll ever make that meal.
Raynes- That just made my food hurt! I hope it heals fast.
katsblaze- Post a pic of the boys after the haircut.
rebann- sending you lots of vibes!
I am having a very low key aka boring day today. I plan to enjoy it. I got up early this morning and put the dishes and the laundry away before waking up the boys. I plan to cook a easy quick supper. I hope to get in bed early so I can attempt to wake up and halfway watch the wedding on the couch before getting dressed for work.
raynes - That is awful.
sushi - Just pretend your in the States and had a really late night
reba - Vibes! Good Luck
Good morning. I didn't sleep great last night the thunderstorms were so loud it kept waking me up. Dh said at one point it woke him up and I said it will be ok and gave him a hug. I don't remember doing this.
Gooood luck rebaann! Crossing all my fingers and toes for you!
raynes - that does look a LOT better. Way to RICE it!
I'm just sitting at work waiting for an epic sugar crash after my glucose test this morning.. but so far, nothing.

Raynes - ouch.
Reba - fingers, toes and anything else I can get my hands on and cross for you!
Mo - Have a fabulous wedding weeked with your brother and family!
DH and I are having a date night tonight, I got elected as the Outreach Director for our local chapter of SMPS (Society for Marketing Professional Services) for the next year.
I also just sent in a leave request to take 1 day off to make 4th of July a 4 day weekend. I'm waiting to see what sh!tstorm comes of that. I don't care, because come hell or highwater, I will be in Portland watching Buddy Guy.
Raynes-OUCH!
Reba-Sending lots of vibes for you!
Good Morning!
I am getting sick, again. I am really hoping I can fight it off but we'll see how that goes. Dh and I watched a movie last night and then I went to bed fairly early.
Tonight will probably be another low key night and hopefully early to bed.
Have a great day ladies.
Raynes - ouch. Glad it's looking better.
Reba - good luck!
Thanks ladies. This has been added to my list of must-make breakfast items for tomorrow. I can't wait to try it out!
Reba-tremendous amounts of vibes coming your way
Raynes-OUCH! I have no advice, but I also have a swollen foot (though not nearly as swollen as yours last night!). I have no idea what is wrong with it...started end of last week when I was running and has gotten worse. My school nurse today told me I need to take 5-7 days off running, hope it gets better, and if not go see someone. Ugh...I literally feel your pain.
Sushi-I am thinking about starting to drink at 4am here...but that is mostly because it was a crappy day today and maybe that will make tomorrow go by faster (though more likely I would just get fired, you know, working with kids and all, so I may need to reconsider).
Today sucked. My foot hurt. I had an awful class after school from 4-7 tonight...and then the teacher kept us an extra 20 minutes. And I got into a huge discussion with some coworkers about next year's schedule (or current lack thereof) and teams etc...which only served to stress me out and annoy me more than I already was about this whole deal (and I was already plenty annoyed and stressed).
Oh, and I'm pretty sure I'm about to get my period...because that just makes this week awesome.
