Riddle me this

Why do so many grown women think it is acceptable to wear pajamas out and about?  I am not taking about VS or Juicy sweats.  I am talking about ACTUAL pajamas.  I was at the zoo today, and I saw SEVERAL women sporting pajama pants.  One with clouds, and another with Mickey Mouse all over them really caught my eye.  I don't get it.  It also leads me to wonder do those people shower, and then put pajamas BACK on?  If not they are rolling out of bed, and wearing their pajamas all day?  These particular sighting were at 3pm.  I noticed this trend last time I was at the mall though so I know it is not just the zoo.  So weird!

ha ha ha ha.  Nope!  Is it all women in pajamas?  I just can't imagine the thought process involved.  How does one just decide to wear pajamas out?  These women were with their husbands and children!  My H would totally side eye me if I was trying to go out in public with pajamas on.

  • I actually thought this same thing this evening when I was in Market Basket... I saw PJs everywhere. I feel like it was cool in high school.

Well that is what you get for going to MB. That is like going to Walmart. I fully expect to see women in moo-moos when I go to Walmart.

It was next to CVS and I needed to pick up my inhaler Sad. It's some good people watching!

I love Wal-mart for the people watching!

    It's a recurring theme ;)

And there is no thought process involved, other than comfort. None of them think about the fact that anyone will notice they're wearing pajamas in public.

  • Yikes!  I feel like in college there were people that rolled out of bed for their 8am classes in pj's but then went back, showered, and got dressed for the rest of the day.  I for one never felt comfortable enough to do that and don't really understand why anyone would want to.  Black yoga pants? sure .... random prints? NO

  • I'm lazy and generally spend my weekend days running errands in black yoga pants, but actual pj pants with prints?  hellz no.
  • Guilty of pj pants in college.....but I had alot of 8am's and would then go home get dressed and go back to my next class.....

as a plus sized woman....i am meticulous about being "dressed for the day" the day I went home to clean out my closet at my mom's and ran to dsw to pick up shoes in sweats i was constantly nervous that people would think i was "that gross fat woman in sweats"

I'm aware i have a complex LOL but i 99.9% have makeup, hair and "regular clothes" on everyday as much as possible.....until I get home and the sweats come out! :)

We used to do Dunks/CVS runs in the middle of the night, and we always wore our pajama bottoms then.  But out in the middle of the day? No, never.

  • I hate the pajama pant "style."  Like SCM, I'll run around on weekends doing errands in black sweatpants (usually because at some point in the day I'll be headed to volleyball and I'm way too lazy to wear two different sets of clothes in one day :)), but even then sometimes I know I should dress better.  PJ pants is way crossing the line!
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball
