I'm so busy this week with work haven't had much time to post but I have a FFF for tomorrow...
Our receptionist had her baby last night at 35 weeks. The poor thing was only 3lbs 12 oz which is much lower than the 5 lbs the child should have been at 35 weeks. The FFF part is that it has been my suspicion that the mother has been taking drugs--her eyes have been dilated and she has seemed out of it. Further, she kept saying how happy she was that she wasn't much gaining weight--her baby daddy has another girlfriend and I think 1-she got pregnant to try to keep him with her and 2-she's worried that if she gained too much weight he'd leave her.
I have no concrete proof of any of this but my fears about the baby are starting to be realized by the pre-term delivery yesterday and the low birthweight.
I'm just disgusted over this and worry for this child.

I hope everything turns out okay for the baby.
1. If that baby needs a good home, I will take her.
2. I have been putting off reconcilling about 400 accounts for work and I can't seem to bite the bullet and get it done. Big problem since the old boss man just asked me if I could get some balances to him today. Oops.
3. DH and I were planning a last minute trip to catch up with some classmates of his that he graduated hs w/ in Germany. They are having a mini reunion in Key West this weekend. We couldn't make it work because my parents "couldn't" (i.e. wouldn't) watch the girls for us this weekend. Turns out the main guys he wanted to see bailed at the last minute so we probably wouldn't have gone anyway but I'm not telling my mom that tidbit of info so she'll likely end up feeling guilty and like she owes me one. Yes, I know that is manipulative but it's how we roll. So lame.
We're a small office and it's never been an issue before so we've never had to do drug testing.
She definitely has low self esteem. I hear her on the phone with the guy and and it's always "oh baby I'm sorry" over and over. What's worse, is that her childcare plan is for him to stay home and take care of the baby. I think he's "in sales" and his business is mostly at night--my biggest clue into this is that she said he made a comment about paying cash for the hospital bill and he doesn't own a car so he sometimes drives her to work to use hers. When I asked her why he doesn't have a car she said it's a "lifestyle choice."
Oh, so he sells drugs. awesome dad there.
Apparently, the baby is doing okay so I would assume he's not addicted to drugs, which may mean I'm wrong about the mother--though I don't think I'm wrong about the father. However, I'm not sure the info I'm getting is accurate. Last I heard the baby didn't have a name yet.

Umm... like as in General Zod from DC (Superman's enemy)? If that's the case, I get the geek reference, but damn... don't pick a supervillian!
<-- Side note, OMG, I don't even read comics and I know this crap. The years of hanging around a comic book shop w/ DH and occasionally watching Smallville are showing.
exactly. he was also in one of the movie with christopher reeve.

That's just mean. If they're so into Superman, why not just name the kid Clark? Or even, Kal-el like Nick Cage? (not saying that's a good name by any means, but at least it's not a villain!)
they're not even THAT into superman, they just love that this heinous name they've picked has those initials.
GAG.
