WWYD: Creative Nesties come in!
So we have these nice wooden shutters. I've tried to sell them at a garage sale and craigslist them, but no luck. I was thinking of doing something cool and crafty with them so we can put them back into the house instead of sitting in the garage.
They are 55.5in long and 30in wide opened
Any idea's?

Re: WWYD: Creative Nesties come in!
You could make them a headboard...if you needed one and if thats your style
Ive also seen them turned into letter/mail holders or sometimes people put them in their garden.
Mommy's little helper
Are you thinking you want to either refinish them or paint them or use them as shutters on the back of the house? Or would you want to repurpose them into something different? They might make a cool room divider if you put a hinge on them to stick them together.
For some reason I think they would make a cool side for a planter box... You could cut them in half (hamburger style) and tack them to the side of a cheap wooden planter box.
Anyway, just thoughts :-)

I was thinking of making them a room divider but they are too unstable, specially with the kids being so young. I was thinking of doing something crafty with them. I've seen them used as card holders, but how often do we have cards? A few times a year?
I just had an idea. There are lots of kids in our family and I'm thinking of letting the 3 older ones (ages 10,12,13) each paint their own side (anything they want) and Chris and I get a side. We'll put them downstairs in the basement in a play area we're creating for when the kids are older. It'd bring the kids together and do something fun!
I'd love to hang them on the wall and repaint them for decor, but they are so heavy i'd be scared to see what we need to mount them on and ruin our walls.
Have fun painting them... louvers are a total PITA to paint! Even spray paint isn't great.
sorry... debbie downer.
Then maybe i'll just have the kids do them, instead of us too
