I know there have been many posts on the new shopping center in Abingdon on 924 (Wegmans, HomeGoods, etc) but I heard a rumor about a Sonic going in there too. Anyone know if it's true?
Re: Sonic in Abingdon??
This is what I heard too. There is a facebook page for the Bel Air Sonic, but I have never gotten confirmation that it is 100% going in.

I have read quite a bit about this and it seems like it is a pretty done deal as Walmart pretty much finds a way to get what they want. They don't have enough room in the current location to turn into a Super Walmart with groceries so they want to move. I think it will be a disaster, but perhaps it will make the area where they are now less of a disaster.
Oh my God, that just sounds like a total mess in that intersection! If they'd be closing the other location in Constant Friendship, then I'm not *as* aghast, but I just hate WalMart so much.
Also, going back to the OP, there's going to be a HomeGoods in the Wegman's shopping center?! Now I'm even more excited!!
Where exactly will this new Walmart be built? I really don't see a lot of room over there off of Plumtree? Will it be near the McDonald's? Or closer to the new SECU Bank? Or Across 924 next to the new Walgreens?
It's going to be across from Mcd's and plumtree rd. So across the street from Freedom Federal/Prudential Carruthers.
I said the same thing but apparently there is plenty of room
This is what I read about the possible Wal-Mart move.
