Royal wedding and the dress
Haters of joy and frivolity, look away. The rest of you, did you see Kate Middleton's dress? Classy and beautiful and not over the top, just like her. Here's a
link. Is that her sister/maid of honor? Her dress was gorgeous too!
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

Re: Royal wedding and the dress
I loved the dress. I thought it was very classy, sexy, and subtle all at the same time. Yes, her sister was her Maid of Honor.
Have you seen the pic of their kiss with the kids in front? There is the one with the little girl with her hands over her ears and frowning. I love it! I have to laugh. I know she was frowning during the flyover, but it looks like she is p!ssed to be there and totally unhappy. LOL
I didn't watch the wedding, but I did just look at some pics. I think she looked gorgeous!!!
I love the dress. Grace Kelly-esq. I love Grace Kelly, so of course I'd love Kate's dress.
I agree w/ the above comment that she does look like she's a negative-2. That girl needs to eat!
She looked gorgeous! The dress was really beautiful - I loved it! I found it sliiiightly too simple for such special event but it suited her well and elegantly. As for her hairdo, I was hoping for an updo hairstyle, but well, she's such a beautiful person.
I also love the maid of honor's dress. I was surprised it was white/ivory, but everything went together so well.
I haven't seen the flower girls and bridesmaids' (were there any?) dresses yet. The plan was to wake up early to watch the wedding live, but I couldn't do it. I'm off to see more pictures now.
EDIT: On a side note, now I can't wait to see Charlene Wittstock's wedding dress!
i'm looking forward to her's and zara phillips' dress this summer.
i LOVED kate's dress - liz taylor (a la Father of the Bride) meets grace kelly. the flower girl dresses were darling .. ivory and w/ a darker buff colored sash. i'd like to know who ok'd princesses genie and beatrice's dresses and hats .. WTH ?!?
kate's dress was beautiful, classic, perfect, and i wish mine had been more like it! loved her sister's dress, too.
as for the princesses beatrice and eugenie... egad! those girls could use some fashion help. they looked just dreadful. what was with that one hat, the camel one? it looked like one of those silly head dresses they put on people in star trek the next generation when they wanted to bash you over the head with the fact that whoever was wearing it was an ALIEN!
YES !!! i noticed it too ! i saw him say that to her and i looked at my mom and said 'did you see that ?!? he said you look beautiful' awwwwww
LOVED it. I woke up at 3 am to use the bathroom and decided to turn on the TV (sorry, tele) and she was walking down the aisle and I watched it up until they went into the back to sign the marriage certificate.
Yes, I am hypocrite. I got sucked in.

Did you guys hear that Will whispered to his FIL, "I thought we were just going to have a small family affair" ? I saw him whispering things all throughout, but I just heard that's what he said to his FIL on the news. That's pretty cute. He seems to have a good sense of humor, and they appear to care about each other a great deal. I like it

I watched it live (I know, crazy) and loved it. Her dress was to die for, and I hope it inspires bridal fashion. It was so classy and elegant.
Can I say that I love Prince Harry?! I always thought he was the more handsome of the two growing up, and everyone thought Wil was. But I loved how he was looking back to see Kate, and whispered to Will that she looked great. And it was so funny to see Harry in the carriage with all the kids. I bet he was fun to ride back to the palace with.
And, sidenote, but I just noticed this morning that weddings make my husband sentimental. It was so cute. I "forced" him to watch it with me, and he was just playing on his phone and hanging out on the couch, but for the rest of the day, he was very attentive and affectionate. I put two and two together and asked if he actually likes weddings. He said they remind him of our wedding, and that he loves me so much. It was really sweet.
I loved the dress. The pleats and scalloping was gorgeous. Loved how the little bridesmaids dresses mirrored Catherine's. Did you see her 2nd dress? Nice...looked like it could have been the same without the lace jacket or the train/overskirts.
I love how classic and understated everything was.
Well said. I completely agree. They looked truly happy, just like any other couple on their wedding day.

She is so gorgeous, every time I see a photo of her, I just admire her style, her poise, she seems so confident yet humble too. Can you even imagine, she was just a "commoner", not royalty at all, and to be married to the heir to the throne, with the whole country and most of the world watching, it just brought me to tears. Weddings often do though.
I think her dress was a bit understated, expected a bit more frouf, but it was just gorgeous. I admire her once again for NOT bowing to expectations and sticking with her own sense of style. Sister was gorgeous too and all the little flower girls were adorable.
I somehow did not record it even though I thought I did, but thank goodness for You tube. I got to see the highlights, I guess. Dress, Vows, Kiss, waving to the throngs from the palace. What a fairy tale!!!!
I do think it would have rubbed people the wrong way in the economic climate for her to have worn a dress as extravagant as Diana's. I think this is Kate's style anyway but if she'd had a 25 ft train like Diana that would have felt sort of in poor taste in today's world. Queen Elizabeth II wore a more simple gown than her predecessors for this reason since war rations were still going on in 1947. Kate's dress was actually quite similar to QEII's sister Princess Margaret's dress from 1960.
