Re: Royal Wedding Discussion here please!
What do you think of the MOB, Step MOB Dresses and the Queen's dress? I thought the MOB dress was very plane jane. Maybe that is just English fashion? I like the color of Camilla's (spelling) dress once I could tell it was actually blue and not white. I love the Queens bright yellow. Its fun and spunky!
What about the MOH dress? I was really surprised to see that it was white!! Its gorgeous though. Anyone else surprised it was white?
Do you like the trees in the church? I really liked them. Very my Fair Wedding LOL.
What traditions that you like/didnt like? I personally love the idea that the "bridesmaids" (flower girls) walk behind the bride.
How do you think this weeding will affect wedding trends here in the US? I think you will see a lot of Princess Kate inspired dresses. I think every groom should say his vows with a english accent!!Married Bio: http://tinypic.com/r/f25wl1/7>
My Bio
I LOVED her sister's dress! I thought she looked gorgeous and she seems "softer" than Kate does.
I loved that the Queen wore yellow. Too cute!
I wish we wore hats more often in America. Let's bring that back.
Loved LOVED Pippa's dress. she was to die for gorgeous. i can't get over how flawless it was. so pretty. i loved Catherine's dress too...she's so classic. very Grace Kelly.
i thought the trees were so neat...really brought the outdoors in.
the Queen looked cute. i didn't pay too much attention to the MOB or Camilla.
someone on my FB said something about Fergie's daughter's hat being horrid...i don't remember it!
Oh my goodness it looked like 4 different bows piled on top of eachother. It's a camel color with loops and holes and...I don't even know how to explain it.
FOUND IT.
oh dear lord.
wow i saw them and i never noticed it! that is HORRID. her sister's outfit on the left is fugly, too. god i hope the fashion police do an episode on the royal wedding!
Yeah I saw that and though good gracious!! The commentators this morning said that the English are very good about not up staging the bride. Um apparently those two didnt get that lesson in finishing school!!
md, i'm with you....i loved everything about this wedding. so beautiful! i seriously like want a wedding re-do! i loved the lace arms...so pretty.
i wish i was invited. i'm pretty sad i wasn't. boooo
i know i wish i was there, too!
besides the trees, i didn't see any flowers or decor. it was very simple. i guess when you get married in westminster abbey it doesn't need it. bet the reception will be insane! so 1900 invited to the wedding and only 300 to the reception?
Aren't there like 3 different receptions or parties? I bet everyone winds up at at least one.
no, but i heard she had three pairs made. i think they are all the same style but with different heel heights. she wore the lowest heel for easy walking at the ceremony.
i have SERIOUSLY wedding dress envy. wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! i wanna do it again!
seriously...this wedding was amazing.
now back to reality...my furnace is leaking water. and my H is golfing. awesome. yay my life.
Loved the wedding. Her dress and the MOH's dress were both stunning. Did anyone else catch a glimps of Posh and Becks? She is looking VERY pregnant, and he was totally drool-worthy.
What do you think of the MOB, Step MOB Dresses and the Queen's dress? I think I would have liked to see the Queen in a lavender but thats personal taste, I dont like yellow-but she did look nice. I didnt pay attention to the mothers
What about the MOH dress? I was surprised by the white but I liked it, clean, simple and very modern.
Do you like the trees in the church? Yes I did. It was really peaceful--does that make sense?
What traditions that you like/didnt like? I love the kiss on the balcony tradition. I suppose him having his back to her walking down the aisle has its purpose but I loved having that time to lock eyes with H knowing everyone was looking at me, and I was only looking at him.
How do you think this weeding will affect wedding trends here in the US? Oh I think people will be copying EVERYTHING they can think of. The dress especially.
trivia: i heard he committed two faux pas... wore a top hat and wore his medals on the wrong side.
girl i hear that! le sigh. if only we could all be royalty.
I heard 600 for the different receptions.
I need to get on board with the sleeve trend (pippa) but I just don't like cap sleeves on formalwear.

I loved it all. I actually really liked the Queen in yellow, that was nice. Kate's mom looked really nice too - can you imagine shopping for that wedding as a MOB?? Especially knowing that the other mother there is the queen. Talk about pressure.
From what I understand, it's actually very traditional for the bridesmaids to wear white in England, so Pippa's dress didn't surprise me at all. When Princess Viktoria of Sweden got married last summer, her bridesmaids also wore white. I actually think it looks so pretty to have them all in the same color, though it's very different from here. I love the sleeves on Pippa's dress. It was beautiful, she looked so great.
I loooved the trees in the church. That was very striking on camera, and I'm sure was gorgeous in person.
I think Kate's dress is going to result in more sleeves in wedding dresses in the next few years. I'm glad - I think strapless is over, and generally doesn't look good on the majority of people.
Princess Beatrice's hat...goodness. I remember watching the Project Runway episode where they designed around Philip Treacy hats and there was one then that was similar. However, there were a lot of really gorgeous hats - ahem, fascinators - and I wish we wore them here to weddings.
That's what I figured. I remembered reading during my wedding planning days that the whole bridesmaid tradition came from an ancient tradition of having a bunch of girls in white to confuse evil spirits from knowing who really was the bride.
