What did you think of Kate's dress?! PIP
I thought she looked great. Her dress was beautiful and classic...very reminscent of Grace Kelly.
I figured that she would wear her hair down in some way, because I've just never seen it up. Overall, I thought she looked very princess-y
I was a little surprised at her bouquet though. It seemed small and the flowers in it just looked like a bunch of baby's breath (although I'm sure it wasn't).

Tinypic is being a b!tch, but here's a good link to see the top detail of the dress:

Re: What did you think of Kate's dress?! PIP
I really liked it. Very classic, yet regal. I like the tiara, if you can call it that? I remember hearing something about how the public would be so dissapointed if she didn't wear a tiara of some kind.
I've heard some people who say they don't like the dress, that it was too "old" for her. But, I like the classic/vintage look. I have a feeling she needed something demure for the church so she went with the lace long sleeve thing and is going to bust that lace off and sport it strapless for the after-party, but I could be wrong.
That's funny...I thought she looked completely age appropriate. I think having her hair down helped with that too.

I liked it, didn't love it.
It looked done before- although it was classic, it closely resembled the dresses of Grace Kelly and Ivanka Trump (whose wedding was only last year).
I did love the tiara, and her hair and her veil.
I did not love the bouquet either- even the clutch looked cheapy- like plain white plastic.
Stand up for something you believe in.
I thought that too, although I loved her dress as well!

I like her dress. I think it was classic, but still kind of modern. Definitely not over the top. I agree that the bouquet was pretty wimpy-looking.
I think the tiara was borrowed from the queen. I think it was a nice touch.
Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
I DD'ed my post, I should've known Rach would get to this today.
I loved Kate's dress. Very timeless. I agree that the bouquet seems out of place though. I read that the whole affair was supposed to be somewhat "scaled down" (as much as a Royal Wedding can be) due to the economy, but she could've had a nicer bouquet than that!
Lol. I was just google-ing Grace Kelly's wedding pictures and her bouquet was very similar! Hmmmm...

I thought is was terrific! I thought the detail in the back added a little extra touch. Wasn't crazy about the veil and I thought her hair was a bit flat, but liked that she wore it down.
ETA: I didn't mind her bouquet - I thought it had a vintage look to it. I'm not into big bouquets though.

Indeed! The lace on Kate's dress reminded me more of Ivanka's:

I'm completely underwhelmed. It's beautiful, simple, classic, etc.... and boring. I was expecting more.
Her flowers are awful. They look so cheap!
Ah, I never saw Ivanka or Grace Kelly's wedding pics, but I definitely see what you mean. Seems she was definitely trying to go the Grace Kelly route with that bouquet.
And her and her sister both have fantastic figures!
Can we talk about the longest walk down any aisle EVER??? She looked so composed!
I cannot believe how calm she seemed. I would have been shaking, crying - just a mess!
This is hilarious: http://katemiddletonforthewin.tumblr.com/
I wish I had a better picture, but her dress resembled my mother's alot:
though her dress wasn't as full.. it was a bit like Heather Mills':

I liked her dress, particularly the top but overall wasn't too crazy over it. I loved how it had sleeves though. And it would have been nicer to have lace overall like Nicole Richie's dress underneath the poofy thing she had:
When I saw the CNN clip, I didn't think she looked old, but the picture Rach linked, she did look older than she is.
I loved her hair down and I don't mind the bouquet as much either. It looks like something I would have done.
ETA: What I said might be confusing regarding Richie's dress, but I thought Kate's dress would have been better if it had more lace detail on the bottom of the dress instead of it being just on the bodice.
Rach, as soon as she stepped out of the car this morning I thought of you. I thought the way her dress flowed from the waist is very similar to your wedding gown.
I loved her dress - I thought it was very elegant and classic. I can't believe the similarities to Grace Kelly's!
I agree on all of these points. I liked the dress but it would be something I would definitely not wear myself. I loved the sleeves but didn't like how it looked like she was just wearing a longline strapless bra underneath.
Now her sister's dress, I LOVED that one !!!

Rach - I agree with Jill - you and Kate could share wardrobes!
I think the skirt of her dress did have some lace detailing.. can't find a great pic though:

Awww thanks Jill, that is the compliment of a lifetime!!

I actually really liked it. I'm not a fan of long sleeved dresses and I thought the sleeves were gorgeous. (However I LOVE lace--good lace, that is.) I think it fit her really well and she looked very classic. People underestimate how great simplicity really is.
And I may be the only weirdo who loved the flowers....I was reading on Yahoo! about her flowers and they said this:
"What was in the bride's bouquet? According to the official royal wedding website, the bouquet was a shield-shaped collection of Myrtle, Lily-of-the-Valley, Sweet William, Ivy, and Hyacinth. The Myrtle sprigs were from plants grown from the Myrtle used in the wedding bouquets of Queen Victoria in 1845 and Queen Elizabeth in 1947(......)And of course, each of those flowers in the bride's bouquet had a special meaning: Lily-of-the-Valley represents the return of happiness, Sweet William stands for gallantry, Hyacinth is for the constancy of love, Myrtle symbolizes marriage and love, and Ivy is for fidelity, marriage, wedded love, friendship, and affection."
And the detailing on her train (according to BBC America) was hand embroidered replications of the detailing on the lace sleeves.
