Royal Wedding

Thoughts?

I really liked Kate's dress. I thought it was beautiful. I was surprised by her sisters oh so clingy dress.  Anyone in North America get up at the crack of dawn to watch it? I've been catching the highlights and pictures.

Re: Royal Wedding

  • I left work early since coverage started at 4pm here.  I really enjoyed it, cried a lot of course but that was to be expected.  I loved her dress, it was classic enough without being overly poof-i-fied and modern without being too trendy.  It made me sentimental for London!

Well that was a crazy couple of years.

  • I thought the entire wedding was just beautiful, every single thing about it!

I feel like such a sap. I was all determined not to care but when I looked at the program yesterday and realized how fabulous the music was going to be, I decided to watch.

Her dress was beautiful. I had thought she might wear something more trendy but I'm glad she ended up with such a classic design. I loved her sister's dress too. I actually really love BMs in white.

The sermon was beautiful. I love good wedding sermons, I always try to take the messages to heart.

The music was just gorgeous too! I have a soft spot for cute little choirboys, of course. I noticed that all of the boys had more or less the same haircut - I bet that it's a part of their look - and I also noticed that ONE of them didn't do his hair the same way. I wonder if he got a little talking to later, haha. Great music choices though. I was psyched that they used Ubi Caritas because we did too (though a different arrangement, I've never heard this one before).

    OK. End gush.

... WHAT was up with Princess Beatrice's hat?

The middle part kind of looks like a rolled up condom.

  • ringy, I agree, Princess Beatrice's hat was just weird.

Thus far I've only watched up to the start of the ceremony, so I'm a bit excited to watch that when I get home.

I thought her dress was gorgeous and that she looked stunning.  Not at all overstated, but still glamorous.

Someone posted this on my local board.  I thought it showed her dress beautifully.

  • I got up early to watch it and I was so glad I did. I loved her dress. I thought she was beautiful. The weeding was so pretty. I like that it was as simple as it could have been.

  • I loved everything about the wedding. I thought her dress was stunning and loved that she did a plunging neckline with the sweetheart underneath. Her veil was gorgeous. It was the same material I wanted to use but couldn't find.

What was up with her flowers, though? It was this tiny little boquet with all this pomp and circumstance going on.

I thought it was interesting how they do some things different. 1. her sister was in white. That would normally be frowned upon around here. 2. the groom didn't get a ring. 3. the groom didn't watch her walk down the aisle, but instead he looked ahead.

Did anyone notice that William turned to her to tell her she was beautiful once she got to him? Loved all the little whispers they had throughout the day. Their kisses on the balcony...so cute!

He didn't want a ring.  I believe that the royal me do pinky rings which is odd.

  • I couldn't watch it this morning, but I'm planning on catching the repeats tonight. It looks like it was really, really beautiful. LOVE her dress and veil. My students were all gushing about it.
  • I loved it.   I caught part of the service while I was getting ready and then watched some highlights when I got to work.  It was just beautiful.

  • I'm watching my DVR of it right now.  DH knew way more than I did when he got home today about it though--I hadn't been online to see anything and he was full of wedding gossip...I laughed at him.

And the feedback from both Ed and my dad this evening was that they liked both Kate and Pippa in their dresses...but especially Pippa Stick out tongue

  • Yeah, she was totally fit. That's SO what I'm talking about with BM dresses. I don't think she upstaged Kate at all (how could you, really?), but she did look awesome.
  • Honestly, I really wasn't impressed with her wedding dress. It was ok. Her reception dress, on the other hand... Beautiful!:
