Weekend Plans

What's on the agenda this weekend?

Tonight I am running and DH and I are going to Daddy Jack's for dinner.

Tomorrow I have to bake/decorate a cake for my cousin's birthday and then attend her party that night. We are going to dinner and cosmic bowling. This is the cake she wants in lime green instead of pink:

Sunday I am doing my last full 3 mile run before the 5k next weekend and then I have to go to the Holocaust Museum for school and write a reactionary paper on that.

My boss is also riding with a team sponsored by our office in the MS 150 this weekend and the route goes behind my house on Sunday, so I am going to make some signs to hang on my back fence to give the team some support and hopefully earn some brownie points!

Re: Weekend Plans

  • Love the cake!   My friend got me one (one tier) just like that for my birthday last year.  I wish I was talented enough to make it!

We are staying low key...tonight I think we are going to the movies.

Tomorrow we are painting all the doors in our house and replacing the hardware on them.  Fun, huh?   Then we are taking a couple of Mark's friends out for dinner since they helped us move.

Sunday my Cosmo comes to live with us!  Yay!  (Cosmo is my doggie that my parents have been keeping because I didn't have a backyard for him)

  • Tonight, I'm driving up from Houston and then gossiping about the royal wedding with my mom haha

Tomorrow, I'm shopping with my mom and then going to a baby shower for a family friend

Sunday, I'm going to start studying for a test that I have on Friday

    Not really doing anything exciting

  • I am hoping to work on my dining room chairs this weekend.  I have to find one more, and get them all sanded, so I can have James' buddy paint them.  Then I get to start on the upholstering.  I can technically start upholstering before they're painted, since it's just seats, so maybe if I get done with that sanding early Saturday I can move on to the next phase of the project.  I'm so excited about my dining room!

I'm also hoping to clean a little bit.  I'm realizing that me and DH are just messy, I guess.  Well, not like gross-dirty, just clutter bugs.  It's annoying, but I just can't come up with a system for dealing with things on a regular basis, so the house explodes and then I clean it up.  Not a fun cycle.

I'm also thinking of trying a new church on Sunday.  I have been wanting to start going to church since we moved here, in, um, 2008, but haven't found a church we like.  (We've tried about 4, I think.  We aren't very adventurous).  I'm thinking of going to Watermark - anyone been there before?

  • That's cool you are doing that for you boss, Leslie.

This weekend, in no particular order, I plan on getting my hair cut (I'm going to try Misty at Salon LaPage if she is available since Anna talks about her so much), we (read DH; I hate ladders) are going to fix our roof due to the damage from all the storms and try to catch the last squirrel and hopefully go eat at an Italian place I've been wanting to try for weeks.

  • Tonight-  I am going to my mom's house to help set up and price items for our garage sale in the morning.

Tomorrow-  I am going to work the garage sale until noon and then face my fears and....bathing suit shop. YIKES.  DH asked if he could go to a friend's house tomorrow night for the UFC fight.  I am secretly so glad he is going so I can be lazy.

Sunday- We are taking family pics (all kids, spouses and grandkid) for my mom's MD gift.  Then I plan to spend some time with my DVR!

  • We're heading down to the Houston area to hang out at our friends' lake house, then on Sunday going to her baby shower.
  • Tonight we are going to Verizon to see if I can get my contacts and photos back then leaving for Tyler.  We are going to a wedding tomorrow and staying the weekend with his mom and sis down there.  I am kind of excited because I think the wedding will be beautiful and I *think* his fam might treat me differently (ie. nice).  At the same time this aggrivates me a little because why treat me any differently because I have a different title in the relationship.  I am torn and we shall see how it all pans out.
  • That cake is adorable!!

Well, I thought we were going to be getting a dog this weekend....but, sadly, we aren't :( DH said no :(. I understand his reasoning, but I'm still bummed.

So, we will just be relaxing and I'll be studying a lot. Finals are coming up.

This is the first weekend in about a month we don't have any obligations or plans, and I'm going to take advantage of that to the fullest.

Today though I'm going to spend time with my parents and have lunch with them. They're both already retired, so they're home. Friday's I only have one class, from 9-10 and the rest of the day off, so they're always my "me" days. Love them. My fav day of the week, by far.

  • Tonight we are going to dinner with our friends who are also expecting. She is one of 3 people that I have told so far outside of immediate family, and it's really nice to be sharing this experience with her.

Tomorrow is going to be a big party at my sister's house for my neice's 5th bday and my BIL's bday.

That all should be fun especially since I feel like I am regaining some of my energy back. For the past several weeks, I had been going to bed at around 9:30pm and then getting terrible sleep, but knock on wood, I got good sleep the past 2 nights.

LOL. I go to bed at 9:30 frequently, and I'm not pregnant. So sad.

  • Tonight we are just going to chill at home since we got the kiddo.  Tomrrow we are helping my sister and her boyfriend move into their new apartment.  My dad wants all the grandkids to stay with them tomorrow night so we are going out with some friends.  Sunday I am working on finishing my school project that is due Wednesday and then start studying for the final.  Plus I have to go to the mall sometime this weekend and get my mom and step mom's Mother's Day presents and a gift for the lingerie shower I am going to next Friday.

    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • We don't really have any plans.  I asked DH if he wanted to go to the etsy thing and he said maybe.  Haha.  So, we might do that.

We are also 'clutter bugs' and it drives me absolutely crazy.  DH is so bad at leaving his stuff everywhere.  I really need to figure out a way to keep us more organized.  It doesn't help that our bedroom is upstairs.  We tend to pile stuff at the bottom of the stairs, just so we don't have to go up and down them all the time.  Wow, we are lazy.

  • Crawfish Boil tomorrow for the USO!  If you don't have plans, you should go..

DH does this too.   I hung a decorative shelf with 3 large hooks right inside our garage door.  I hang my keys and purse on it, etc.   DH?  His are spread all over the dining table, the kitchen counter, etc.   He also has 6 pairs of shoes (no, I'm not kidding) in the living room.

I have bags for everyone that we need to give stuff to and one of them is for going upstairs.  It would be good exercise because I find things one at a time that need to go up but it was annoying.

Um, I have 3 pairs of shoes.  My inside shoes, my daily shoes and the other is because I'm lazy and just haven't put them in the closet since I took the insole out.   Oh and I also have my slippers. The living room is where I finish getting dressed.

I'm as bad as the DH's around here Embarrassed  Our island is where I dump my stuff and DH doesn't like it because he wants a clean counter Stick out tongue

  • This is completely unrelated, but I need help.  I am going to an art gallery opening tonight in the design district, and I am incapable of dressing myself and DH.  Advice please.  I'll be offline most of the rest of the day, but I'll check back in later.

I don't remember the name of it, but it's owned by the wife of a former coworker, who my sister still works with, and she and BIL are going and DH actually agreed to go - this is so far outside his norm, I'm just beside myself.  So, dress us!!

I've never been to an art gallery opening, but I've seen them on TV (haha, I'm such a dork).  I would wear a dress and heels.  DH would probably wear a suit without a tie, but he is a suit kind of guy.  If your DH doesn't like suits, I think a nice pair of slacks and button up shirt would suffice.

    Anyone else have any thoughts?

I'm supposed to go to this stupid banquet tonight, but now all I want to do is have some cocktails.  A lot of them.

You sound like me earlier this week and I would pass you a few drinks but I went through my stash on Wednesday.  Here is an imaginary one Drinks to hopefully tide you over until you get home.

  • Jaymi - Misty can be hard to get an appointment with on short notice, but everyone there is great. Let them know I referred you, and we'll both get a discount!

We don't really have any plans this weekend, which is kind of nice. Tonight I think we're ordering pizza then maybe we'll go out for coffee or froyo after. Tomorrow night we were supposed to go camping with a couple friends but the weather forecast is grim, so I think we're going to go to dinner with them. Sunday will probably be cleaning and grocery shopping.

I'm able to get in with her tomorrow and I let them know you referred me but there was a bunch of confusion so I'll double check tomorrow that they actually put you on there.  I'm excited!
