Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

  • I hope everything is ok!!! And I wanna know what your new siggy is!!!!!
  • One of the moderators posted this on the moderator board...don't know if it works or not but I'll give it to you in hopes it does

    I have numbers in my SN, and I was just able to edit my sig. I get a server error only when using "extra" code that is unsupported in the siggies now. As long as you keep it simple (text, picture, link, line break) it should work. When you start adding formatting HTML (to bold, underline or italic text, for example) then it doesn't work.

    If the code is wrong or incomplete for pictures or links, it gives an error as well. I've seen time-out errors, and other server errors when playing around with it after the format change.

    I just talked one of the girls on my board through changing her siggy this past week. It *might* help that user to change hers. Here was my response to her question:

    You open your bio, and click on "Edit My Avatar & Sig" which is right above your avatar pic on that first page. Scroll to the bottom and switch out the code in the "My Forums Signature" box.

    It's HTML that is used. So, pictures have to fit into this format:

    <img src="http://urlofyourpic.jpg">

    If you want to resize an image, you can either adjust by height or width. If you want it smaller, just reduce the number. In that case, the picture code looks like this:

    <img src="http://urlofyourpic.jpg" width="300">

    And links have to fit this format:

    <a href="http://www.whateveryouwanttolinkto.com/html/xxx">whatever you want to say</a>

    Then click "Save My Signature"

    If there's an error in the HTML code you put in there, it won't save right. Line breaks are <BR> but other formatting (like bold and italics) don't seem to work
