Re: Your education

  • a friends little girl goes to a Montessori here.  It sounds really nice, it's very different from standard school though!

  • My older cousin went to Montessori through middle or high school and she cannot write a proper English sentence to save her life! It's so bad. The spelling, the grammar... I shudder to think of her emails. /melodrama.

Anyway, that's the only experience that I have with it. And it may just be because my cousin's a dumb@ss :)

  • I have known people to go through International schools and Montessori schools.

They are both good choices. If you look at Montessori, make sure that the teachers there are Montessori trained and that they aren't just calling themselves "Montessori" schools. Some kids really, really thrive in the environment.

For international schools. For the first two years, kids can become very, very frustrated because they are learning 2-3 languages at a time, and adding a new language every year. However, after the first few years it is amazing - kids that speak several languages. Just be prepared to 1. learn or buff up on languages so that you can use them at home with B and help him with homework in the later years and 2.  deal with any frustrations that may come along, and 3. pay out the ass for tuition.
