So you are moving forward with the house?
I really think that a pregnancy spurs everyone into the right frame of mind. I think everything will work out fine and in 9 months you will have a beautiful baby! Yeah!
It was my understanding that loosing your job could help to get you out of a loan if you had recently applied for it. Since you are approved partially because of your income - if you no longer have that income you aren't necessarily eligible for the same loan terms. This may help you if you end up in a pickle.
