I went to the office today with DH. Just as I'm finishing lunch, he comes in the break room looking kind of funny. I say "well you look dazed and confused" and he says "yea, I kind of feel like that". He tells me his heart is racing, his hands feel numb and he couldn't read the stuff he was working on or type on the computer. We decide to take him to the ER to get checked out because he'd been feeling like that for a few hours.
On the way I'm asking him more about how he's feeling, and it starts to sound like he's having an anxiety attack. But he says he's not anxious or stressed - he actually got a promotion today and will be getting another raise. So that's exciting, but I'm starting to get a little scared here!
The doctor checked him out and confirmed that he was having an anxiety attack. He did calm down after being in the ER for awhile, but we decided to take him home anyway. Thank goodness I can work from home! He's been passed out on the couch since we got home a few hours ago.
Talk about highs and lows!
Re: What a weird day (long)
So one bad thing and two good things.
I'm glad to hear he's doing better, and a promotion and another raise is a wonderful thing.

Yep! This.
Poor T.
But, congrats on the good stuff!
OH, no - those are awful! Any idea what caused it? Sometimes when I get overwhelmed (even happy overwhelmed) I get like that. Maybe he was just that relieved over the promotion and raise? Sounds silly but it's possible.
Hope he's feeling better and congrats on the promotion and raise!

We have no idea. He said it came on gradually, and he wasn't really thinking about anything but his work. Could have been the happy-overwhelmed like you said, because I know he's been getting really bored in his current position. I just hope it doesn't happen again - it was scary!
