I have little itty bitty ants everywhere! This morning I found like 100 of them congregating in my bathroom!! Does anyone know of a kid- safe method to kill these guys?

we discovered ants in out house on EASTER SUNDAY with 15 people here and my 5 year old nephew screaming BUGS BUGS BUGS! fun times! we ended up calling an exterminator, which is supposedly kid and pet friendly. it turned out to be carpenter ants so we had no choice. he said it was because of what the landscapers do this time of year that attracts them. we figured out what vent they were coming in from and we sprayed "off" inside there until the exterminator came. that kept them out until he came the next day. he sprayed one wall in my house and all around the outside and they're gone.
you might want to try Ortho Home Defense for the outside of your home. your spray it around the perimeter. this is the first year we didnt use it (just ran out and needed to buy more) and we got ants. we've never had a problem before and my backyard is heavily wooded.
but yeah, it's gross. my skin was crawling for the past few days with phantom bugs.
Terro traps, spraying Fantastik at entry points, and cinnamon work well.

Lilac- It looks like a baby powder bomb exploded. DH is going to WTF happened when he walks in tonight. It did seem to kill though.
