1. The wedding -- my lands, that dress is lovely. And so is her sister's! I wanted to know what they were saying to each other up there, when Kate first got to the altar. (and how I hate when people write "alter", inc on the MSNBC site, of all things!). Love the smiles, and the pomp and circumstance. Anyone who's my FB friend can see that my son and I are having a disagreement over this, but I say... it's just a wedding. Enjoy it.
2. I wish I was with KiahJ having mimosas now, instead of at my desk.
3. The good part about being at work today is that there's a meeting, so there's bacon. (and other breakfast foods, but... bacon.)
4. I wish BBC America's streaming video would work so I could continue to watch the wedding stuff all day, while "working." At some point, I'm sure my IT dept would notice the bandwidth problem and come bust me. Until then, though, give me my simple pleasures.
5. I wish I had the courage to wear my veil to work today (as others had posted yesterday). My office, though, is not into the wedding at all. Stupid office.
6. I have no plans this weekend, and am happy. John wants to go to the bull riding thing at Frying Pan Park tmw -- anyone else going?
7. A special thanks to Oct15thBride for organizing last night's GTG. Silver Spring isn't such a scary place, after all!
So.. what are the chances we can ever get folks out to VA, to be fair? I know where I live is not Metro-friendly, but what about Arlington/Clarendon? or are we doomed to always be separated by The River?
Re: Friday musings (echo bh's post from yesterday) - not necessarily FFCs
Just poured my first mimosa and am getting ready to watch the kiss! I missed the entire wedding, but no worries, I dvr'ed it and will toast to the I do's later!
The GTG was fun! Ditto thanks to Oct15thBride for pulling it all together. It was nice to see the familiar faces and meet some new ones! I'd definitely come across the river - though I don't get out much so I'm not sure if I know where the river even is!
OMG I love the dress! I am at work googling for pics non stop... I highly doubt it will be a productive day. I also love all the hats/fascinators. Its inspired me to have a derby party this year just so I can wear a big hat or funky fascinators.
And I too wish I worked in an office where wearing my veil today would be seen as fun :-)
If you'd asked me yesterday if I'd watch the royal wedding, I said no. But after hauling myself out of bed this morning after a wild night of Tex-Mex influenced carousing, I decided it was just the ticket.
We watched the end of the wedding in the Abbey and the carriage back to the palace. DS kept saying "wow, horse," and waving "bye."
I could use a mimosa, but I'm settling for
Ditto on the thanks to Oct15th for organizing last night's happy hour!
There used to be a regular group of Nesties who had monthly happy hours in Reston. I'm not sure what happened to that, but maybe you can resurrect it, Pam!
Random thought - am I the only person who types words into google search as a form of spell check? I just did it with "resurrect."
I'm annoyed at myself for not DVRing the wedding. I didn't think I'd care, but now I realize I do. I only saw the very end where they were leaving and getting into the carriage. Harumph.
I'm obsessed with Britney's Remix of "Till the World Ends" with Kesha and Nicki Minaj. LOVE IT.
Giving my two weeks notice today eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
And I would totally do a GTG in Arlington. Herndon might be a bit far on a weeknight, but I think Arlington would be doable
I watched from 5:00 until I left at 6:45. But I'm an Anglophile and London is "my" city. Drying one's hair in front of the TV is not so easy, and my hair is very tangled today.
Pam - I've been streaming from the Today Show since 7:30! I'd prefer PBS but can't get it to work.
Back in my Knot days, I attended a gazillion Arlington/DC GTGs. Sadly, I'd never be able to cross the river for an after-work GTG. I'd gladly hop on metro at Dunn Loring after work for an Arlington one though!!! Otherwise, I don't think I'll ever meet any of you.

I do, all the time.
I absolutely loved Kate's dress!!! I wish I could have worn an Alexander McQueen dress for my wedding.
They should never show William from behind. Poor guy (who is my age) is balding badly.
I definitely stayed out too late at a work happy hour. Damn 10% beer at RFD. Thankfully I am not hungover. I am however counting down til 5 pm when I can leave work.
I would be up for an Arlington GTG!

i am just now catching the royal wedding on dvr
i am a big anglophile but while i haven't cared about the lead up, i do like watching the wedding. i was living in london when prince edward got married to sophie and i remember the owner of the laundromat asking me "are you gonna watch the wedding on the telly?" in a cockney accent so thick i almost didn't understand her!
i'm officially obsessed with bitters for cocktails and have to AW the drink i made last night: http://cheekydid.blogspot.com/
i'd totally be up for an arlington GTG - i know that the faccia luna at clarendon has 1/2 price wine on tuesdays
I was not obsessed with the wedding by any means, but here it is, 1:00, and I have been scouring the internet for all things Royal Wedding. It's nuts. I've done NO WORK at all.
There are painters here outside of my office, and the color their putting on the wall is kind of urnie colored.
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
I do this ALL the time. Pretty much anytime I'm not typing in a Word doc with auto spell check.
