Re: FFFC/AWF
My kid's birthday invitations are sooooo cute. I'm really in love with them.
Even though I'm not ready, I finally faxed the signed consent form to the insurance to add coverage. Tentative plans to start trying in July 2012.
ETA: Yesterday I ran a couple of errands with B after I picked him up from Mother's Day Out. He fell asleep in the car as we were headed home. Instead of waking him up and taking him inside, I parked in my driveway next to the garage, rolled all four windows down, pulled out a lawn chair next to the car and drank a beer. Then, I called my neighbor and she joined me for another beer. It was glorious. I may have had two or three more after B woke up while we let our kids play in the cul-de-sac. I'm probably like, the best mom ever.
Boymom, you make me LOL. That totally sounds like something I would do!!
My buds and I parked in the living room from 9pm last night until about 10 minutes ago, gorging on horrible food, eating wedding cake and "princess" cookies, and watching really terrible television on BBC. I, of course, cried during the wedding but it wasn't about the wedding....it was about being so lucky to have not only met MY prince but because I have the greatest people in my life ever. I have been all about the Royal Wedding ever since the engagement was announced...and even though I am sure my friends thought I was muy coo coo, they played along with it and were great sports. Probably, they just wanted wedding cake.....Regardless, I may not have royal blood or be wearing a couture McQueen dress but I totally feel like a Princess today.
FFFC: I think the whole Trump presidental thing is a publicity stunt. Do people really think this guy could be a good presidential candidate? I'm really starting to loose hope for the Republican party between him and Sarah Palin.
I wasn't planning on really watching the wedding, but since my mom recorded it, we sat and watched it for a while after we finished the chores this morning.
The FF part? I loved Pippa's dress WAY more than Kate's. I mean, Kate's was beautiful, but Pippa's was beyond gorgeous. It just fit her so well. Annnd, I just saw a picture of her 'party' dress... wow.
I didn't watch it, but I did look at the pictures online. I agree, Pippa's dress looked amazing on her!

I also did not love Kate's dress but was totally in love with Pippa's. In fact, my friends and I discussed that Pippa's dress seemed more like "Kate" than Kate's dress did and we wondered why she didn't have that dress made as a wedding dress. There is a ton of protocol involved in this sort of wedding and my guess is that the Queen had the final say on Kate's dress but not Pippa's....so Kate wore a dress that was a combination of her taste and the Queen's taste and Pippa wore the dress Kate picked out. I loved the bodice of Kate's dress but the skirt was so weird - didn't show off her cute figure at all. I think it would have fit better if the skirt were poofier..I am not sure. I was very excited she chose Sarah Burton to design both dresses.
My random confession: I hate Thursday night college football games. I thought we'd get away without having one this year, but we are. And I'm not a fan. Boo hiss.
Another one: I was in a wedding last weekend, and I don't like the way I look in all the pictures. I feel out of place in all of them - and we won't even go there about how the dress fit [I barely got into it]. Sigh.
My random AW: H and I finally downloaded Tango on our iPhones and had a 'face-to-face' conversation. And, he'll get to see JJ tonight - besides pictures - for the first time since November. Totally excited about that.
This is how I felt, too! I LOVED the bodice. It was pretty much what I expected from her. I think I was expecting something more along the line's of Pippa's for the skirt of Kate's dress. So, you're probably right in your theory.
You know there has got to be a million guidelines to follow. I wonder how much say Kate had in the whole thing other than the fact that she applied her own makeup?
Sounds like perfect parenting to me.
My AW: the invites for my baby shower are super cute--I LOVE them. My sister did an awesome job picking them out!
Stripes - I love your post and I have to say, today was one of the best days I've had in a long time and will remember it for quite a while. It was so good to spend the wee hours of the morning hanging with a group of good friends, sharing a special moment together and indulging in some tasty treats! It's just one of those things you'll remember for a long time and I feel lucky to have such wonderful friends. I'm also happy that our set-up seemed to go well tonight between our two good friends and maybe they might hit it off. Regardless, today was full of too much fun and I'm glad to have started the weekend off on such a good note. Let the good times continue to roll!!
A great way to kick of Girls of Summer 2011 Pool Parties. Last year went out with a bang...we started out this year with a bang. I had fun...I agree..I will always remember it.
P.S. If I'm ever a parent, I want to channel both Boymom and Critti all the time!
It sounded like they had a lot of say in the wedding. They wanted something very simple and understated and, of course, the Queen wanted to have a big to do, so they agreed on a "big" understated wedding- which it really was. Of course, all I know is what I read on people.com and watch on BBC but it sounds like Kate and William made all the decisions on the date, the location, decorating of the church, the flowers, the food, the program, the timeline, how they were to photographed (for instance, they made it clear they liked the candid engagement photos best, so the Queen released the formal photo, then the couple released the candids which were fab), etc etc. I got tired of all the Diana references - this is not a new Diana. This is a WOMAN that is independent and knows what she wants.
And of course, because I am royalty obsessed I want an heir in nine months!!!!
Total AW:
DH is seriously trying to make Mother's Day super special for me and it actually made me cry today. He told we that we needed to get out of the house before noon because we had some place to go. He took us up I-44 and kept asking if I knew where we were going as we passed all of our normal exits I kept trying to figure it out... I had no idea. He obviously does not know that side of town and got a bit turned around (we went too far) but we ended up at my favorite jewelry store.
It was so cute, and I can't wait for my first Mother's Day gift! It has garnets and diamonds and it should be here in a couple of weeks. Total AW!
Garnets......sigh!!! Make sure you PIP when you get it!!!!!!
