who watched the royal wedding??
Re: who watched the royal wedding??
i did! i did! the festivities started at 6pm guam time - it was the first time i was glad to be in this time zone, haha.
i was so obsessed with prince william when i was in middle school - swoon. it was a bit ridiculous. it was fun to hear him talk
i've always known his whole name (william arthur philip louis) but i was ashamed at myself that i didnt ever know it was pronounced like louie - not louiS. haha. i had a big goofy grin on my face the whole ceremony and teared up a lot. i guess because i followed that family so much for about 3 or 4 years i felt like it was a family friend getting married!! haha. kate was sooo pretty - i love her dress. everything was so perfect! it was really neat to see history happen.
if you missed it and dont want to watch for 5 hours like i did
here's a GREAT recap of all the highlights!

I watched it on the dvr. You could tell they were in love just the way they looked at each other and laughed. I am happy for them. Her dress was very pretty. I loved how they just giggled on the balcony. This wedding was so different from Charles and Di. I think a lot of it was because they are older and felt comfortable around each other. I teared up wishing Di was there in person to see it, but she is looking down. She would be so proud of how her sons turned out.
Harry cracked me up. I wonder how many people made it through all the parties, especially the one just for the young folks at the palace. I figured there all sleeping now. I hope the media leaves them alone, especially for their honeymoon.
I liked Pippa dress but after seeing Kate's it kinda made Pippa look out of place in that modern dress since Kate's was more of 50's or Grace Kelly style.
I liked her second dress also as it looked more like a dress she could go party in.
I know this wedding had a lot if hype and there is so much going on in the world, but like we were talking at work Thursday, this wedding was a nice escape for a couple of hours and focus on happy stuff and realize that happy days will be back.
It was neat learning different tidbits about the royals, lineage and all that.
I didn't watch the ceremony live (it started at 3am here), but I watched a lot of the "recap" stuff. I really liked her dress, and like Heather said, they just looked happy and in love. I mean, yes...they had to do all the formal stuff, but they looked like a "normal" couple doing it...not all stiff and somber. I loved that William drove them to St. James' Palace from Buckingham Palace...and that they had helium balloons tied to the back and "learners" sign tied to the front. I loved that it's easy to read Williams' lips...and that when she first stood next to him at the church, you can clearly see that he leaned over said "you look beautiful!" And on the balcony, that second kiss was his idea...you can see him say, "One more? Let's do one more."
Heather, I didn't see the second dress...I'll have to go look for that?
Did you see the cake? So pretty! And that chocolate groom's cake looked super yummy!
Oh, and I know a lot of people are saying that her flowers were "underwhelming," but I really liked them. They didn't take anything away from her dress, which was relatively simple, but they complemented it well. And Kate specifically chose those flowers for their symbolic meaning.

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain."
I just saw some bits and pieces but it was beautiful. Kate looked stunning and they make an adorable couple.
Carrie - they have the recipe for the chocolate groom's cake on the Oprah website.
I did not watch the whole wedding I just saw pictures and a few highlights.
But I loved her dress. I thought it was so fitting for a royal wedding and unline Princess Di's . I do not see anything wrong with the dress. I also loved her second dress. I thought it was fitting for a party and could you imagine dancing in the dress and watching it twirl.
I loved that you could really tell that they are in love. And I really wish they will last and make things work. And I hope the photographers will leave them alone and let them be married for awhile.
I saw on some news channel before Kate and William got engaged she took the trash out and they were all commenting on that and how "bad" that looked.
I was up at 5am et time to watch
I made tea, cucumber tea sandwiches and had tea cookies (the bakery was out of petit fours here, booo).
I was amazed at everything that went on, bc I had never seen a royal wedding before. I was a newborn baby when Charles and Diana married. I have thought Kate aka the Duchess of Cambridge was just beautiful for a while now, but Im really obsessed with her fashion style now!
I loved her flowers, and it was nice to hear she chose them for symbolic reasons.
Lily of the valley is one of my favorite flowers. In the house I grew up in my mom had tons of them in the yard by the front door, and I remember the smell- so beautiful!
What?! Thats crazy! I heard they dont want servants, and want to try to live a normal life as possible. I commend them for that.
