I am now looking at our second cruise port- St. Thomas, USVI. We have been here before and just walked around to see the area basically. Does anyone have any suggestions on things to do/see. (Yes, I will be checking CruiseCritic.com as well)
Has anyone done that chair ride thing? I thought it looked fun but I'd have to talk DH into it.
Re: XP: St. Thomas, USVI
If you want a beach, I recommend Megan's Bay. It's beautiful!! I've been there twice and one of the pretiest sceneries.
My sister did the chair ride thing and I'm pretty sure she liked it. Awesome scenery, to say the least!
When I was on the cruise, we did an excursion through the ship to swim with sea lions, and it was AWESOME. We had transportation from the ship to Coral World, which was like a little aquarium type place. We got to get in a pool and play with the sea lions, and my sister and I both loved it.
After the sea lion swim we also took a cab from the port to Magen's Bay and it was pretty nice (although I thought it was a little pricey to get there). We didn't spend much time there but it was pretty and there were drinks, so that's all I need.
I blogged about it all here if you're interested: St. Thomas
(Oh, and if you want to see my sister's pics of the skyride to Paradise Point, here's her album: Pictures)

We did a catamaran cruise and snorkle excursion while we were in St. Thomas and it was really nice. There is some great snorkling there.
There's actually a nestie that I think hangs out mostly on MMs named Lindastvi who is a captain on a tour sail boat in St. Thomas. She could probably give you some pretty good recs if you want to page her.
OMG! I don't know what looked more amazing- your seal excursion or your sister's (who BTW is very pretty) sky ride.
The seal thing looked like SO-MUCH-FUN!! I looked at Carnival's excursions and that is not one of them. So I will have to look and see if I can book it through another company, or directly through the place. Do you happen to remember what you paid to do it? When we were in Honduras a few months ago one of my friends got bit by an iguana!
The views from the sky ride looked beautiful! I am gonna have to work on getting my H to try that out.
Thanks a lot for the info!
Does it get any better?!
This is what one of the people we're going with wants to do.
Thanks for the sister compliment.
She IS very pretty, and she's nice, too! I like her, haha.
Unfortunately I can't remember what we paid for it, and because my sister was working on the ship she got a special rate anyway. But I would definitely have paid full price for the excursion, whatever that was. It was totally worth every penny.
Your friend got BIT by an iguana??? Dude. I am just not okay with iguanas.

I meant to ask you that also. I looked at your sister's other pictures in the album....so she sings on the ship?
Yep! We were at this beach in Honduras and about half way through the day all of these animals came out. There were monkeys that were awesome- they kept trying to drink our drinks! I was the only one from the group who didn't let them sit on me, take pictures with them, etc. They were very cute, but they were wild animals! Then some other things started coming out- one was a kinda rabbit looking animal, I forget what it was. Then there was an iguana or two. I think he tried feeding it. And it bit him! I was so scared!!
That iguana story is horrifying! I didn't even know they bite. Now I'm even more freaked out by them.
And yeah, my sister was a singer on the ship. Her contract is up now, but she was on the ship for about 6 months last year. She spent two months cruising the Mediterranean and then came across the Atlantic and spent four months in the Caribbean. I'm super jealous of it all - she got to see so many awesome places, they paid her well, and she only worked for a few hours most nights (and some nights, not at all!). The best part was that I got to take her 2-week cruise for basically nothing since I stayed in her room with her, so I'm hoping she does another ship soon.
