My mom called me a little bit ago asking what I wanted the menu to be at my shower. I don't really know! I remember someone on here (JuliD maybe?) doing a Fetus Fiesta with a taco bar or something, and thought that would be a good idea since it'll be a relaxed co-ed backyard party feel. My only concern with doing that is we've done a fajita bar at the past 2 football parties we've had. Not sure that's a huge issue though.
Does anyone have any other menu ideas or Fetus Fiesta suggestions/ideas?
Re: Baby Shower Menu
I love Fetus Fiesta. That is awesome. I think Mexican food is perfect in the summertime - well to me it is perfect all year. But especially in the summer!
Or maybe all your guilty pleasure foods that someone eating for two should be encouraged to indulge in. Not sure what that is for you - pizza? fried anything?
Yes, we threw a Fetus Fiesta for our friend. Here's what the day entailed for food:
- taco bar (also had refried beans and Spanish rice, for side dish or taco)
- chips and salsa
- margaritas (virgin and alcoholic)
- tequila lime cupcakes
- fried ice cream flavored ice cream (we didn't actually make the real thing)
If this is in the summer and you want more food, you could always do gazpacho too or maybe fajitas as you suggeted (for the grill).
For the games we did one game which was match the Spanish word to the American word with baby related words (pregnant, stroller, Mom, baby, crib, etc.) and for the other "game" we had a pinata filled with some items for the guests (lip gloss, mini bottles of booze, gum, candy, etc.) and some items for the Mama-to-be (baby socks, other items from her registry that were tiny and fit). Since yours is co-ed you could throw some boy items in there.
HTH! :-)
Not as creative, but I'm hosting a baby shower for a friend.
We're doing hamburgers, hotdogs, and veggie kabobs on the grill, with normal grilling side-dishes. Fruit, pasta salad, chips and dip.
The mom to be said no games, so we're doing 'ice breaker' games instead of normal shower games. The guest list is from several social circles so not everyone knows each other.
We had a taco bar at my baby shower too. You can't go wrong with Mexican
Not Mexican but how cute is this?
