Todd's new job!
I know some of you probably saw on FB that Todd's last day at his job was Friday. He hated it there, and was really depressed for several months a little while back. It was taking a toll on our relationship as well. He said it brought out the worst in him, and I believe it. He was a completely different person, and it made me so sad to see him like that.
Fast forward to recently--he's applied and tested at several police departments in the Chicagoland area, and got hired at his first choice department! He's been going through the hiring process with them since November, so about 6-7 months now. There are so many steps, one of them being a visit to our house and an interview with me. It seems like such a great place to work, and a great opportunity for him to use his skills. He's so excited--I haven't seen him this happy in months! It comes at the perfect time, since the benefits package is phenomenal (and way cheaper than his old job), and there is a raise involved.
Anyway, I just wanted to share the good news! He's been working for about a year for something like this to happen, so it's a blessing that it finally paid off!

I can't believe how long police depts take to finalize a job. John started the application process in early July and didn't start until late October!
That's great for the raise and good benefits before the baby gets here too!

and yes, it takes a while here too. my bro started interviewing w/ the sheriff's dept. last august and just got hired/enrolled in their training program in march.
