So yesterday morning I got up and had this insane need to clean my kitchen, so without even putting a bra on (sorry if this is TMI, but there is a purpose to telling you this), I threw back my hair and set to scrubbing...
And then I got a knock on my door...it was my neighbor across the hall who apparently stopped over because she felt like it and wanted to just chit chat. Awkwardly, I'm standing there in sweats, looking kinda gross and not wearing a bra...and basically had to invite her in because it was chilly outside and she was just standing there gabbing to me.
Here's the part that irked me a bit: she's got my number, if she wanted to stop over, couldn't she have called or texted first? I would have at least brushed my hair and put a stinking bra on! Instead she just came knocking, caught me by surprise and then sat on my couch for an hour talking....it was kinda weird.
Would this bug you at all? I felt bad not letting her in because she didn't seem to get the hint that I wasn't prepared for company, but at the same time I was a little annoyed that she didn't call to see if it was ok to stop over. UGH I don't know. I feel bad being bothered, but it was kinda awkward!
Re: Kinda random, but would this irk you too?

Everyone welcome.

Next time you could just tell her its not a good time. Its not like the walk is far for her, or make up something like "Oh, (insert name here), I was JUST about to jump into the shower. Can you come back in like 30 minutes and then we can chat over a cup of coffee?"
Otherwise, yes, it would annoy me. I think more the unclean house part than the bra --- because i could quickly run upstairs adn put one on, but if my house was a wreck (which it usually is), its not such a quick fix :P
Then again, none of our neighbors care to get to know us and we act the same so nobody ever comes to my house. and family KNOWS not to come unexpectedly - we had to have that conversation w/ them already.
