Hi ladies
I don't normal post on this board but hoping to get some advice. I am currently looking for a new job and have my resume posted on Monster but not getting many hits. I don't know if my title is working. Right now it is:
Administrative Assistant with over 10 years experience
Does anyone have any recommendations for something that might work better. Not sure what most people put as titles.
Thanks!!!
Re: Monster ??
Most companies only pay for one job board (Monster, career builder, linkedin, a local site). You can always put your resume up in serveral locations to increase traffic.

Be sure you are going in and refreshing so that it displays as a newly posted resume, usually recruiters only look weekly etc; and go back 7 days or so; etc depending on the position and how often they search and your resume is sorted by date posted if you go in and update it shows posted new today; so they have more of a chance to post. I would also suggest taking out the 10 years exp in the title; monster resume search uses Boolean and if I were searching for an AA I would type in Administrative Assistant; you will come up higher in the match. Also, utilize careerbuilder and linked in.
Lastly, keep in mind that with the current state of the economy a lot of people are applying though the job boards and I know that for myself as a recruiter I do many less resume searches than I did a few years ago, because more people apply directly. Be sure you are also applying to jobs rather than just waiting on a company to find your resume, a lot of smaller companies have gotten rid of their resume search licenses to save money.

I agree with others about using other boards.
As for your resume "title" I would maybe say Executive Assistant and add any industry or department specifics where you have expertise. For insurance "Executive Assistant in Healthcare with 10 Years Experience"
