Black Swan *spoilers*
I've been a lurker on this board, and have seen many posts about this movie. After finally watching it, it has left me totally confused! Anyone have insight on how to answer my questions? Did she kill herself to become the part? What was the deal with her mom? And did she and Lily have some kind of one night stand, or was that completely in her mind. (Which is how it seemed.) TIA!

I thought she really did harm herself bc she's crazycakes and was far too deep into the part.
The whole lesbian thing with Lily was definitely all in her head.
Her mom obviously knew she was crazy which explains why she was such a helicopter parent. I still think there was a weird dynamic between the two of them but maybe she was just so concerned about her falling into one of her episodes that she tried to control everything all. the. time.

I had to talk it out with a few friends.
Ultimately I am right on target except my sister says the bedroom part with Lily was imagined. She also thinks that she imagined Lily putting drugs into her drink.
I think mom was a little crazy herself. She certainly knew what buttons to push of Nina's, which I think also helped push her over the edge.
She did not kill herself for the part- she harmed herself thinking it was Lily because she was having psychotic delusions.
Actually i think she did kill herself, i thought of it as a metaphor as the only way she can play the part was to kill who she realy was (inncocent white swan).
I think her mom is just as crazy and plays a big part as to why she is crazy too...Her mom is creepy and was obviously living her own dreams through her daughter.
And that one night stand with lily was all in her head.
