  • No need to be embarassed. Ours is a Canon PowerShot SX130 IS with 12.1 megapixels.

We've had it for 4 months now and still love it.

Nice! We got ours at Best Buy for 185 I think. Be sure to check the Canon web site too. Also, if your H works for a large company ask him if he gets any special discounts on electronics. I did when I worked for Gap and Citi and do now at my current job. Since Mother's Day and Graduations are coming up you should be able to find something somewhere.

  • Yep, that's the one I have too and I think we got it for the same price along with this weird "bundle" that was a memory card. case & tripod (at Best Buy too).

  • i saw some reviews that say the battery life is really bad on this camera. i'll probably buy some rechargeables which i have with my current camera. have you noticed that it eats batteries?

I read that too but haven't noticed that. We haven't used our camera a ton in the past 4 months but it has gotten probably bi-weekly use. We're just now replacing the batteries for the first time. With rechargeables you should be fine.

  • Nope, but we don't take tons of pictures. I have two old sets of rechargeable and I don't recally plugging any of them in lately.

  • cool! sounds like it should be okay. my camera batteries now requires quite a bit of charging so i'm used to that anyway.

i have read good things about its close-ups which is what i really need it for!
