Hi there! I'm new to this page and was looking to make a few fellow preggo friends
My name is Jen, im from staten island (the rock) unfortunately lol been here my whole life.... lol i know i know... lol, I am currently 25 weeks and Due Aug 13th. Anyone else due around the same time? how are all your pregnancies going? i was at the mall and im looking for a bra that will fit me and motherhood does not carry my size, i am so upset... my start size was 34D and NOW im bumped up to a 40F..... where the heck can i find a bra that will fit me???
Re: maternity bra?
Hi and welcome to The Nest and congrats on your pregnancy!
I too am from SI. What part do you live in? We're in Rossville. There are a few Nesties here that are expecting, but I'm not sure who is due when. =/ As for the bra's...I'm big busted as well and only bought 1 maternity bra (from Motherhood), but it was very flimsy. Breastfeeding did not work for me, but I currently pump, so I can do without the maternity bra's...I just use regular underwires now...I'm sorry I am no help. I do remember the Lactation Consultant saying that she never used Maternity bra's either (and she BF'd), so you don't technically need them. Try doing a google search...maybe you will have luck that way...or you can try looking in a lingerie shop. Hope that helps. Good luck!
Hi there.
Im from Staten Island too...born and raised, but currently living in Bay Ridge. Not that I made it that far. LOL. Literally, Im still on the Island at least 2x a week since my best friend lives there. *And I woke up craving Denino's pizza and am trying to convince the husband to take the ride with me for dinner. LMAO but I digress...
I am due 7/14 so not too far away from you..
Personally, I do not use maternity bras as I dont like the flattened look they give you, and the fact that they dont provide much support. I personally wear regular bras with underwires and they work just fine. I also went up a bunch of sizes, but not nearly as many as you have.
With that...I would try to get properly measured. And I would go to Lane Bryant and try them out..they go up to DDD and even F's on occasion. But I find that alot of women mistakenly mis-measure/mis calculate their bra size.
Im a big advocate for getting measured at a "good" bra place, a fit consultant at a place like Le Mystere...

I am still nursing and have been in maternity bras for the past 7 months....but I hate them all! They really do suck, they give awful shapes and i can't find any in my size (huge boobs but a small back). If you find any you like, I'd love to know!
I love bf'ing but I am really looking forward to the day when I can wear a regular bra!!
If you are willing to venture into manhattan there is a great shop, by appointment only, called The Upper Breast Side. The specialize in maternity bras and all things lactation related.
I am sure they could hook you up.
Yummy Mummy is another good shop that will help you out. http://yummymummystore.com/
