what are you looking forward to this week?

oh hi May, nice to see you.

we are going to decide on and order new light fixtures for the house this week. our goal is to have it done before the weekend.

Cinco de Mayo is Thursday so i will definitely participate in some margaritas and chile rellenos in celebration. Thursday is the ONLY day this week we are supposed to have sun so we will probably go out to eat where there is a deck.

Nana goes today for her scans and we find out this week if she is indeed cancer free as we suspect, or whether she will need further treatment.

im starting week 3 of C25K and im pretty pumped.

I get the stitches out of my mouth today, so that's exciting.

And Saturday is the Kentucky Derby!

Hopefully I'll be back in the gym this week to continue C25K. I was in too much pain last week to fathom bouncing around on the treadmill.

Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
  • Today my cousin leaves for Marines boot camp for 3 months. He signed up without telling anyone and we had his going away party this weekend. I'm going to miss him and be thinking about him constantly this week as it's also his 20th birthday today.

Tomorrow we're going to see Rob Sheffield talk about his new book. Jon & I both read it and liked it a lot so I'm looking forward to it.

Thursday morning we leave for Memphis for a long weekend. I can't wait to see Graceland, eat lots of delicious BBQ and enjoy some great blues music.

  • Cinco-Cinco-Cinco de Mayo!

Actually I don't think I have plans for Cinco de Mayo on Cinco de Mayo -- I think we're going out either on the Quatro de Mayo or the Seis de Mayo instead.

I also potentially have to be in court on Thursday for that crazy drunk driver's trial.  No one from the State's attorney's office has been in touch with us, though... so I dont know what's going on!

  • Hola Niners! I can't nest on the computers at my new job so I'm going to become an expert at bberry nesting. Tomorrow I'm going to a wine tasting with my parents. Always a good time! There will be multiple belated cinco de mayo celebraciones this weekend, along w/ a Derby party Saturday and a birthday party and Mother's Day dinner on Sunday. Lately, our social calendar has gotten crazy busy so I'll probably be going to bed every night this wk at 8:30 to compensate, lol.
  • Morning!

My mom & dad have to call the doctor today to see when he can get in and find out what their next move is with his back. (Thanks again for all the T&P!)

Getting our water spicket put in on this Saturday instead and thats about it.

thanks :) she just saw the doctor and she IS cancer free! woohoo. she goes back in August for a check-up and she will go every three months for a year, then every six months for two years, then we will just rely on her yearly mammogram after that, assuming everything looks good at each test.

  • First of all: Yay Steese!  I'm so glad your Nana is cancer free!

What am I looking forward to this week?  Mother's Day!  I'm so ridiculously excited to celebrate my first Mother's Day.  I wasn't pregnant for Mother's Day last year, so this is in all ways, my first.   I'm not one to drop hints when it comes to holidays but I dropped some heavy hints to Joel just to make sure he knows how important this first mother's day is to me.  I'm not big on receiving gifts and typically would rather go out to dinner or do something memorable rather than receive something but in this case I would like something tangible to remember it by.  I may have put the $25 off of a $50 purchase for BlueNile.com on Joel's keyboard Embarrassed lol

ETA: I walked away to get a drink came back and pushed post forgetting that I didn't type the last part.  I'm also really excited for mother's day because I love the gifts I bought for my mom and my MIL and I cannot wait to give it to them!

Have a blast! Memphis is so much fun. Too bad it's Ellie's birthday weekend or I would come meet you!

For me, this week is slow until Friday, which is my baby girl's first birthday! Celebrations will commence and last through the weekend!

  • It is our giant corporate annual meeting/ retreat, so the next couple of days before we leave are stressy.

But, that being said, I'm looking forward to the giant party at the end of the days of meetings (also on Thursday).

This weekend I want to BBQ and shop for something for H's bday.

  • Actually have quite a bit going on this week.  Packed work week, so hopefully it will go by fast.  I have a deent sized catering order for this weekend, so that will keep me busy Thursday night and Friday afternoon

Meeting some friend for Thai food and drinks Friday night

one of Scott's coworkers is throwing a graduation party Saturday afternoon (he's been doing night school for like 3 years to finish his BA), that's sure to be a good time - his coworkers are fun

Sunday we are starting a new tradition of lazy Sundays with a big breakfast and mimosas.  Our weekend have been pretty full, it's nice to be able to chill out in pjs all day and relax.

ETA: and hopefully meeting up with Kass on Tuesday!

  • Wednesday someone is coming to clean our vents and get the birds out of my master bathroom exhaust vent.  It's been a year and I finally convinced Patrick that it was a bad idea to not get it taken care of this year.  So yay!  No more scratching and random noises that wake me up early on the weekends.  And no more funky smell in our bathroom.  Now we can fix our bathroom fan with no fear of a dead bird falling out.

Other than that, not much going on here.  Neither of our families are big on Mother's Day celebrations so we don't typically do gifts.

  • My choir is hosting a wine tasting on Friday night for our annual fundraiser, so I'm looking forward to helping out and attending.

    Nothing else super exciting until...

I LEAVE FOR DISNEY WORLD ON MONDAY!  woohoo!!! I think I'm most excited for the weather and wearing summery clothes.

I actually didn't know, but yay Amethyst! That's pretty :)  I didn't give hints that specific and i haven't stalked what mother's day jewelry they have on blue nile, i do still want to be surprised after all. But that is a great idea, I hope Joel thinks of it! lol
