:) teaching a sample lesson this week!
Last week I had my FIRST interview to be a public school teacher. After applying to jobs for over a year, I finally had my first interview. They are hiring for all positions (people retiring and some teachers unfortunately getting fired due to MCAS scores, which I HATE because I feel awful knowing I could potentially take someones job..)
Anyway they said they would let me know in about two weeks if they wanted me to come in and teach a sample lesson. Well I guess they couldn't wait because they emailed me Friday! I'm going in this coming Wednesday to teach a math lesson in kindergarten (which is the grade I would most likely be teaching). I'm nervous so so so very nervous. I'm really hoping I get the job because it would be a huge pay increase, awesome benefits, summers off, and it would just be amazing.

I took a few early childhood educ classes in college as electives and taught a "lesson" on reading to "1st graders" (my classmates) and had WAY too much fun with it.

Thanks everyone! I just finished preparing my lessons (just have to sneak around at work and print some stuff out!!) I rehearsed and timed it. I HATE having time limits I always always always go over. But I feel like if I dont plan enough, than I will go under. I'm not sure which is worse, haha.
I was shaking as I "rehearsed" it, hopefully I will get over my nerves by Wednesday!
