Photographers

My camera was dropped over the weekend and luckily my body is OK but my nifty fifty is not OK.

So I'm looking around and the 50mm 1.4 is really really really getting my attention.

Do any of you have one? I'm wondering if it is worth the extra bucks.

Re: Photographers

  • I bought the 1.4 off of someone else for a decent price. I should have tested it before I paid, but I bought it off of a family of a photographer who was in ill health. I wound up having to send it to Canon and spent another $125-200 to get it fixed since the focus was soft on one side. They wound up swapping out all of the elements and now it is a great lens. But it did cost me dearly.

Image quality is much better than the 1.8 and it is a much quieter lens.

  • I meant to add that I still have access to my 1.8, so I could take a comparison shot for you with the two of them if you'd like. But I'm sure there are tons already on the web.
