I have started charting and have a question. Why is it important to take your temp at exactly the same time every day? I am confused because on my chart i had 2 temps that I took at 6:45, 6:15 and 6:40, then others at 7:45, 7:15 and 7:40. The ones in the 6 oclock hour are filled in blue dots in FF, but the 7 oclock hour ones are open circles. I am confused by this. I would think at least the 7:15 be filled in.
Re: charting Q
It's important to take it as the same time every day to get an accurate temp. Taking it at different times your temp may be higher (the later you take it) which may give you inaccurate info for your chart. That's why some people set their alarms for a certain time every day just to take their temp, then go back to bed. It's a PITA, but it will give you the most accurate info.
Here's what I found on FF about the dots:
Open Circles and Dots:
If something in the data indicates that the temperature may be slightly inaccurate (either by events selected in the Special data area or by a time difference larger than normal), the temperature is plotted using a circle instead of a dot. Please note that these points do not need to be discarded. The circle will just indicate to the reader areas on the chart where the data may be less accurate.
HTH
Basically you have 1 hour to take your temp in the morning before it's considered unreliable (for lack of a better word) and given an open circle. So that means you have one half hour before your normal waking time and one half hour after you normal waking time to take your temp. Does this answer your question? If not let me know!!
GL and I hope you get your BFP soon!

What does FF consider your "normal waking time"?
It is whatever you set your time to. If you want to change your waking time go to the data entry box and under the Primary tab there is a check box titled "Default time" which will allow you to reset the time. HTH!!
