Dad's Court Date is tomorrow...
For those of you that remember the drama with my (step) momma, dad's court date is tomorrow. Step sister and step mother both got their summons but neither will be showing. We are hoping this means they will drop all of the charges and this whole nightmare will be off of his record, but there is the possibility the DA could pursue without witnesses. Hoping for the best.
As an update, my step mother has not had a drink since the incident. This is nothing new. She "quits" off and on but so far so good. My neice is doing well. She is happy and healthy. We went over there for easter and all was good. You can see the toll this has taken on my dad and step mom's relationship for sure. My dad doesn't really seem to care if she is around or not. You can tell he loves her but it is the kind of love that has been dragged through the ringer and he seems to be on edge all the time. On the other hand, he is thrilled to have my neice by his side. He loves her so much. They are best friends. My other step sister sent me a picture of my dad painting my neices nails and my neice was laughing hysterically. They are so cute together!

Congrats to your step mum for staying off the booze at least this long. I hope she can do it--for her and your dad's sake.
